[Japan]: Gynecologist, furniture and bla~
Hey everybody! Hope you guys are doing fine?

I'm sorry. I really don't have much time to update (somehow I use this sentence as introduction to all my entries *sigh* ε=ε=ε= 。・゜(゜ノT-T)ノ) .....

Anyway. Quite a lot of things happened lately, but nothing too interesting, I guess. I should take notes next time .... whenever I have time to update I already forgot what I wanted to write about (x_____X'')

So let's start with something ... maybe funny? I hope it's interesting to some of you.
Not too long ago I went to the gynecologist (婦人科医) for the first time here in Japan. I had the wife of my boss come with me as I didn't know where exactly to go, how to fill out the formulars etc.
Usually she's very helpful and nice, but this time she was kind of .... well, she didn't really want to. I assured her that I only want her to come with me to show me the way. Of course I didn't want her to go to the doctor together with me. I guess that's what she was afraid of *lol*
One thing I was surprised about was when I asked her about a rec for a gynecologist. She said she don't really know. I then asked her to which doctor her daughters go (both mid twenties): "Oh, they've never been to a gynecologist." ..... "WUUUUT????" ... I mean ... yes ... cancer is not SUCH a big problem in Japan and all, but still ...... and .. besides .. one of them has a boyfriend and all.
I mean Japanese people have no problem bathing naked together in a public bath where I really have my problems, BUT ..... when it's about their health they suddenly become shy or what?!
Anyway ... on to the actual visit.
The doctor was male and quite old (50-something I guess). His English was not too bad, but again he couldn't speak German (I wonder if it's REALLY true that Japanese doctors have to study German at university ... I start to doubt it *shakes head*).
Anyway he was nice and we could communicate quite well. I also was well prepared. I made a huge list with words that might come up during our conversation and printed it out. Stupid me only did a German-Japanese version .... so the doctor always tried to speak English and I didn't know the English terms at all (X_____x) ..... *headdesk* .... sometimes his pronunciation was quite bad, so it was hard to figure out. I always answered in Japanese and hoped he would respond in Japanese.
Anyway ... after a short conversation, they send you out to the waiting room again. After that they come to pick you up and bring you in another room. Of course you have to get rid of your shoes first and wear some slippers instead.
And now comes the fancy-weird part XD .....
There was an electric chair thingie. You're supposed to take off your clothes "down there" and then sit on that chair (so far not tooooo different from Germany). One of the nurses brought me a towel to cover my legs and everything while I was waiting.
THEN the doctor comes, pushes a button and the whole chair starts to MOVE!!! It turns around (~90°) so that your lower part faces the doctor. Your upper part is behind a curtain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So you can't see the doctor and the doctor can't see you ... well ... at least not your face.
I suppose that's the Japanese way .... as they seem to be so shy and all ... WTF!!! Actually this was really weird, because GOD KNOWS what the doctor is really doing behind that curtain!!! Who tells me that he doesn't use his cam to get some nice shots? XDDDDDDDD
Ahem ....
What was really annoying (and I wrote about that a few times already, I think) is that the nurses are always with the doctor. So even in this situation your not with the doctor alone .... WTF!!??? .... And sometimes it's really not good to understand Japanese ... they were laughing when the chair started to move, because my legs were too long for the whole thing (X_____x'') ......

Anyway ... it was not a bad, but an interesting experience.

2 days ago I went there again to get the results. This time alone ... and that was a mistake. The first time I went there I didn't have an appointment, but still didn't have to wait for that long. This time I had an appointment and had to wait ONE WHOLE HOUR!!!!! WTFFFFFF JAPAN???!!!!! .... but what was worse was that there were like 20-25 women that came AFTER me and were let in before me!! I'm not 100% sure, but I felt that it's because I'm a foreigner! And then I went in to the doctor. He just said hello, everything okay, goodbye. 1 minute and it was over and for that I waited 1 whole hour1111111!!!! I'm pretty sure that if I'd gone with the wife of my boss again, they would have let me in at the appointed time, no? Oh well ....

That's it. How's going to the gynecologist in your country?

Apart from that .. hmm, let's see. Last Saturday we had a little snowstorm. It was really heavy for about 2 hours and then it was over. Of course the snow was gone again soon after that. I really don't miss the snow of my home country at all. I heard from my friends that it just snowed 1,5m over night again XDD Haha!! Ahem.

That was on Saturday BEFORE the snowstorm. I just noticed there was some snow on the mountains XD ... that's why I took the photo XD
No photos of the snowstorm, because I was at work then.

Yesterday there was a heavy thunderstorm .... I've never experienced one like that before. The thunderstorm was DIRECTLY above us. The lightning felt dangerous and the thunder was so loud and everything was shaking ... it was really scary ;o; ....

Generelly the weather is still autumn-ish here which I enjoy a lot. It's around 10-14° during daytime. Awesome :D The weather is so nice, I should go out for a walk or something instead of just studying ^^; ... (T__T) *headdesk*

Today we have a full moon here :)

And goodbye sun ^-^/

Okay, remember one of my last posts where I wrote about my back problems because of sitting on the floor all of the time?
I wanted to buy a proper desk and chair, right? Today I got the table ... PLUS a huge, huge bookshelf :D ... and I didn't have to pay anything (only the transportation).
My boss and his wife still have quite a few pieces of furniture and they said they would help me out ^-^; ......
So now I only need to buy a proper chair. They also wanted to give me a chair, but they only had old ones and not really what I was looking for, so .....

Anyway .... today I was quite busy because I had to get rid of my old desk, make the way free for the carpenters and .... blah ... After cleaning and putting everything in my new bookshelf I decided to take some photos. I think it's been a while since I last posted photos of my appartment?

Yay, finally space again!! ^^ Nothing stored on the floor anymore :D Now I can buy a lot of doujinshi in Tokyo yay ...

It's a bit crowded, but actually I have more space than before when everything was just somewhere on the floor ^^;
Unfortunately my Toushiro wallscroll vanishes behind the desk now XD .... Gomen ne! <333

As you can see I'm still sitting on the floor and "in" my kotatsu, because it's warm and comfy and I still don't have a proper chair. But I guess for spring I'll move to the desk ^^; .... (if I'm still here in spring .. that is x_X)

Uhm ... yes. I don't like that photo. I really need a new camera. Mine is really bitchy and hates me ;___;

Of course a "chochajin" entry must contain food photos, right? RIGHT! XD

Yet another KitKat flavor. I haven't opened it yet, so I don't know if it's tasty or not.
And those panda choco cookies were really yummie (and cute ^^).

That was on the back XD

YAY for imported cereals (^-^)/
Those were not from Germany, but from Switzerland, though.

Random note about my work: Sometimes it's really hard to ignore what my students are saying and especially not to say anything / aka join the conversation.
My older students (junior high) often talk about the current animes here like Bleach or Naruto .... they have their mp3-players with them and let each other listen to the newest music of their fav animes etc. ... I'm just like "uhh, let me join!"
After class one of my students asked me: "Sensei, you like Yamapi, right?"
Me: *thinking*HELL YES!!! *saying* Uhm .... ye .. yes?!
She: Come, have a look at that.
Another student had a REALLY cute photo of Pi on her cellphone. I had a hard time holding back ;P
I love Japan (most of the time XD)

Oh ... that reminds me ... somebody visited our school not too long ago. I'm not sure how exactly she's related to my boss ... I think her parents are close friends with my boss.
Anyway .. she lives in Tokyo and her best friend (female) is a hairdresser in Harajuku! We were talking a little bit and she told me that Yamapi once came to her shop. .... Wow .... awesome :D .... I guess I have to look out for hairdressing saloons in Harajuku in a few weeks XDDDDD Kihihi~
Wait ... why is this all about Yamapi today? He's not even in my top3! XD

God, I'm so random today.

Another random fact: Yesterday I asked my students what other language they would like to learn besides English. Most of them don't even want to learn, but they have to XD ..... French was their number one o___O'' ...............
but they also named Spanish, German ^-^, Swedish ..... it was interesting. I love talking about these kind of things with my students *nods* Unfortunately we rarely can do it *kicks lesson plans*

Only 2 more weeks and I still haven't decided where to go for winter vacation. I mean it'll be only 4-5 days, but .. AAAH!!
I wanted to go to Sendai, but I heard it's hard to get around there and you have to walk a lot .. which in winter might be ... too cruel. *sigh*
Maybe I should go for Shikoku instead?! :/

AAAND I'm thinking about buying an ipod touch. Anybody already has one and can tell me a little bit more about it?
I mainly want it to be able to study Japanese on the go.

I think that was enough blabbering for today.
I hope it was somewhat interesting for you ^^; .....

Please excuse me now, I have to move my ass and stuy some Japanese (^^')>

Your gyno story is scary. In France, I guess it's the same way than in Germany, you can go pretty easily, and there aren't any... curtains +_+ I'm scared like mad about going to gynecologist in France, but when I'm reading this I guess I should be happy to live here XD (but I'm thinking about living in Japan -_- hahaha)

Wait ... why is this all about Yamapi today? He's not even in my top3! XD hahaha that's nice. I would have thought about going to the hairsalon too XD Yamapi is not in my top 3 either (but I really appreciate him) but it's always nice to heard about some johnny's whereabouts :D

French was their number one o___O'' haha I'm actually happy to hear this XD You seem surprised, don't you? Why is it? You didn't know that japanese loooved the Marie-Antoinette's language? XDDDD (I'm joking but... that's not totally wrong XD)

Hey, it's been a while! ^-^/ *hugs*
I love your Maki icon <3333

If you're living in a big city in Japan, you can always find foreign doctors and I GUESS they examine you the Western style XD

Well, not surprised. I personally am just not a big fan of French *runs away* To me Italian or Spanish sounds so much better (^^'') ......

Yeah~ *hugs back* I've been very busy so I couln't always read your posts or comment them x_X
Thanks :D I like your Yamapi one ^_-

I hope so XD Because I would have a hard time getting used to it I think XD

Oh you don't like French? I do like it (you will say "of course, it's your mother tongue" but that's not only it ^^) but I won't bash you because you don't XD There are languages I don't like too haha

Don't worry! I'm exactly the same x___X

It's not that I hate France or French people. Not at ALL!! I just don't want to learn the language ^^;; And yes, I think it's normal that there are languages you don't give a shit about and languages you would like to study for whatever strange reason ;)

Don't worry, I know you were talking about French language only ^_- If you hated French people I guess you wouldn't talk to me :D
