[Japan Travel]: Kurashiki (Okayama)
Hello!~

It's finally time for another travel entry!! Yay!~
So, after visiting Kagawa Prefecture on Shikoku for only 2 days, I was back on the main island (Honshu) in Okayama.
Because I've already been to the main attractions in Okayama city years ago, I went for some other sites this time.
First destination was: Kurashiki

Kurashiki is especially well-known for its various museums, but is also worth a visit because of the canal area and all the nice and old buildings around it!!
Welcome to the Venice of Japan?!

ZOOOOM! And sooo adorable, too!! I've rarely seen such a cute monkey!! (^-^)b

Off to Canal City! XD )

Somehow you just can't get enough of this awesome atmosphere!

Swan eggs, insects in hospitals and cherry blossom trees in side streets!! )

Next up is: Bitchu Takashashi (with Matsuyama Castle) and Kojima

As this is related to today's travel entry, let me have a short poll because I'm just curious: Chinese Zodiac

[Poll #1751263]

That's all for today.
Thanks so much for reading!

P.S.: If anybody ever wondered, it took me over 2.5h to write this entry!!!!!! (x___X)

[Japan Travel]: Matsumoto + Suwa (last day!)
Hello!

This is already the last day if my awesome winter vacation.
No need to worry, though, spring vacation's coming up in a few weeks!! (^___^)b
This last day features another highlight: Matsumoto Castle (I wanted to visit it forever, but somehow never managed to do so until now!)
Here we go!~

Matsumoto and Suwa (January 7th 2011):

Matsumoto Castle at night and during daytime!~ )

Awww, the grandmother of my camera!! ^-^

Takashima Castle )

And that's it. That was my busy, but awesome winter vacation!
Thanks for reading. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did when travelling (^___^)b
Coming up next: -nothing yet- (BUT spring vacation is around the corner, yay!!~ )

P.S.: For some time now my LJ Scrapbook sucks since the last LJ update! All my travel photos are uploaded to my LJ Scrapbook and they load so slow since a few days. I'm truly sorry and I hope LJ will notice and fix it soon *annoyed*

[Japan Travel]: Iga-Ueno and the Iga Ninja

Here's already the next "travel entry", the second day of my spontaneous trip.
I always wanted to visit "Iga Ueno". It's easily accessible from Kyoto, Osaka or Nara, so I tried to go there during my winter vacation (when I was in Kobe, Nara, Osaka) and also during my spring vacation when I was in Kyoto, but failed both times!!! ....
Good thing I "had to" go to Osaka again and THIS TIME I finally managed to go there.
Now, what's so great about Iga Ueno, you ask?
There's a castle!!! That's already enough for me (^-^')>
Boo, ya say? Iga Ueno is most famous for ninja. The Iga school of ninjutsu (art of stealth), based in Ueno City (Mie Prefecture), used to be one of Japan's two leading ninja schools during the feudal era (the Koga school in Shiga Prefecture was the other).
Maybe you've already heard about in some Japanese dramas or movies (e.g. "Shinobi").

Anyway, let's get started.
There are around 100 photos this time, I'm sorry, but I don't wanna split up this entry and today FOR THE FIRST TIME videos as well!!! :D

NINJA FIGTHT START_ _ _ !! )

Although I think the photos turned out quite nice, it's a bit boring to just look at "action" photos, right?
How about watching the fight "live"???

Videos and the Ninja Castle! <3 )

And here you can see that it was raining earlier that day :)

[Japan Travel]: Osaka in May (*-*)
Hallou~

It seems you'll have to wait a little bit longer for the next "travel entry" of my spring vacation, because I wanna post about my trip to Osaka (and Iga-Ueno the next time) last week first.
As most of you know I went to Osaka for 2 days, mainly to watch a movie and meet my NUMBER ONE Japanese star (*___*)
As it's really expensive to travel to Osaka from where I live I figured I should use this opportunity and plan a short trip as well.
The result: one day sightseeing in Osaka, one day in Iga-Ueno. The latter was really awesome and worth the money, but let's start with Osaka today (^-^)/

Osaka (May 13th, 2010):

temple, museum, castle, shrine - speed dating in Osaka?! XD )

What?? After meeting Toma you still had the strength to do some more sightseeing??? O___O; ... Where? Why? How? XD )

Osaka at night looks cool, don't ya think?

Osaka at night. View from the Umeda Sky Building )

The next morning I got up super early to leave for Iga-Ueno (Mie Prefecture) to see a castle and an old ninja school
Stay tuned for the next entry!

Comments are love!

[Japan Travel]: Hiroshima Day 1
Hello~♪

It's a working day (on which I usually don't post), but it seems I caught a cold and thus don't feel like doing anything else . Furthermore, I need to keep the photos coming, otherwise we'll never ever finish ;P
I think I mentioned it before. I came back with over 5000 photos from 2 cameras, after 2 rounds of sorting out that was down to 3800ish and now for posting here on LJ it's about 770 photos. Still too many so that I have to spilt up several days again. I don't wanna have entries with 130+ photos in it and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't like that either (^-^'')

Anyway, let's start without any further delay.
My first day in Hiroshima was super super rainy, thus not so many (nice) photos and a lot of crappy photos taken inside the bomb museum instead.
I hope that nevertheless this entry will be interesting. Don't worry there will be enough cherry blossom photos in future entries, so you can consider this entry as somewhat special, because on no other day the atmosphere and weather was like this.

Hiroshima Day 1 (April 1st, 2010):

I'm singing in the ra~~ain! )

Probably one of the most famous spots in the park.
If you look through the hole you can see the "A-Bomb Dome". As it's so popluar, it was quite difficult to get a good photo.
There were so many other people (despite the rain) XD

In the museum ... )

And that's it already.
I hope you enjoyed it despite the rainy weather - I did.
More to come soon. Gotta prepare my lunch and then I'm off to work.

[Japan Travel]: Hikone and Nagahama
Hello,

this time is mainly a "castle entry". On my 3rd day I took a break from Nara and decided to go to Hikone and Nagahama for a day trip.
This was quite an unlucky day, though. You'll soon see why.

Hikone and Nagahama (January 6th, 2010):

Welcome to Hikone City <3 )

After getting a map in both, English and Japanese, at the tourist information center, I already was on my way to the castle.
Just don't lose any time, hurry up - that's what was on my mind (^-^')>
Speaking of tourist information centers: I had a lot of interesting conversations with the people there in many cities this time. While other foreign tourists were standing in line for the only "tiny" "foreign tourist" counter, I went to the "normal" one, speaking in Japanese with the people.
Sometimes we ended up having a conversation about GOD knows what!!! That's another reason why I love travelling alone :) So many random encounters (^-^)>
I always get to hear that my Japanese sounds so "kirei" - they're talking about my pronunciation, but then I always try to tell them that I'm German and that the German and Japanese pronunciation are MUCH closer than the English and Japanese ones and that's why some English native speakers have a harder time learning proper Japanese pronunciation. It's not that I'm a genius or anything. I'm just lucky enough to have a mother tongue with a similar phonic system XD

Anyways ... let's continue:
The small mascot (on the right) in the picture above is, of course, the macot of Hikone. I became a fan of it IMMEDIATELY! It's so cute!! <3
It's called "Hikonyan", the Samurai Cat! XD

Aaaand the Castle! )

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this entry (^-^)>
Next will be my last day in Nara. Then, I left for Osaka.
Please stay tuned for more.

[Japan Travel]: Beppu - Day 1 (part 2)
Hi again!

Thanks so much for your nice comments to my last entry. It makes me really happy that you seem to enjoy my travel entries and that keeps me going although I don't really have the time to do so (x__X)
Anyway, here's part 2 of my first day - in a seperate entry like I already said because this is all about my visit at the sex museum in Beppu.
I think the photos are not too bad, but if you're easily offended by things like that, you might wanna skip this entry ;)

So, here we go again :)

Let's start with a rather harmless photo. This is what's awaiting you in front of the entrance.
When I went there (close to closing time 4:30pm, there were not many people in there which made it easier for me, but it still felt a little bit awkward, especially when I was standing beside a young couple (prolly younger than me) and the girl was petting a huge wooden penis ... GAAAH!!! *headdesk* XDDDD)

Wait, what are the seven dwarfs doing with snow white there? o__O; .... )

Btw. not a SINGLE manga- or anime-themed sex related exhibition there!! I was surprised! And a little bit disappointed XDDDD
And also no "yaoi-ish" stuff XDDDD *sigh*

Anyway, when I got out of the museum it was already getting dark and so no more photos of that day.

I hope you enjoyed this entry although it was a quite awkward one.
Please look forward to my 2nd day in Beppu (which is not R-18, I swear!! XD)

[Japan Travel]: Naruto Day 2 (*last day)
The time has finally come.
Today I'm posting photos of the last day of my spring vacation 2009.
I don't know yet if there will be photos of my summer vacation 2009 this year as I'm going back to Germany for that (~ 2 weeks).
There won't be any JAPAN summer vacation photos this year, though. It's a shame as I really enjoyed my summer vacation last year, but I'm also looking forward to going back to Germany although it's only for a short time.

Anyway, enough of my blabbering:

Naruto - Day 2 (April 9th, 2009):

Temple #1 and #2 of the 88 temple pilgrimage in Shikoku )

Bando - Former German detention center PLUS The German House (as well as the monkey attack and stuff ;o; ...) )

Wait?! A CASTLE IN NARUTO???!!!! Huh??? o_O .... )

And that was it, my spring vacation 2009 :)
It was awesome and is definitely among the best vacations I had so far here in Japan. Position 1 is still the summer vacation 2008, though (^^')> ......

Thanks for looking/reading!

[Japan Travel]: Matsuyama - Day 2
And here we go again ^-^

I stayed 3 days in Matsuyama (maybe 1 day too long), so I decided to use day 2 as my "break day" (it seems I always need one day where I don't do too much to recover again XD
It was raining almost the whole day anyway, so it was a good thing I decided not to do that much that day.
I still visited a few things and went shopping (*_*)

Matsuyama - Day 2 (April 4th, 2009):

Rain can't stop me?! )

Lunch time? Shopping arcade! Freiburg Garden! Starbucks (*-*) )

And that was my day 2 in Matsuyama.
I told you that it wouldn't be very interesting. Hope you enjoyed it nevertheless.
Day 3 was full of awesomeness again (so expect at least twice as much photos as today XD)

[Japan Travel]: Kagoshima - Day 2
Yay, finally some time to post again ^-^;

This time I'll show you my second day in Kagoshima and I just realized that it's been almost exactly 3 months already. Time sure is running fast *sigh*

Kagoshima - Day 2 (August 15th, 2008):

This was actually the day I decided to take it easy meaning no real plans for that day as my body hurt and I was really tired, so I really wanted to take a little break. That day was pretty interesting (and random) nevertheless ^^

Department stores and just walking around randomly can be fun, too XD )

I love this picture (*___*) ... (Narnia anyone? XD)

Meiji Restoration Museum and Dolphin Port )

Animate, shopping, Dolphin Port again XD )

That was not my last time at Dolphin Port, though. On Day 3 (which will hopefully come soon XD) I also went there at night XDDD
Only 2 more days left (Kagoshima Day 3 and Kokura Day 1) and that's it.

Thanks for looking ^-^/
Anybody fell in love with Kagoshima? Well, I did *nods*

Now it's time for cappu and strawberry shortcake <3

[Japan Travel]: Nagasaki - Day 1
Okay,

I finally have some time (well actually not, but I just HAVE to do it ) to post pictures and a short report about my first day in Nagasaki.

Before I start a random note:

Exactly one year ago I came to Japan for the first time (back then for a 3 week vacation together with [livejournal.com profile] hesaki). Jesus, I can't believe that it's already ONE year AGO!!! Time sure is running (too) fast (as always).

There are some other things I'd like to blabber about, but that will have to wait until I have more time. Now I wanna get this entry done at least ;)

Enjoy

Nagasaki - Day 1 (August 10th, 2008):

In Nagasaki (Kyushu) I stayed 2 days and 2 nights. Of course I wanted to stay longer, but as I only had a 1 week vacation, that was not possible. I always wanted to go to Nagasaki, there are so many things and as I've already written in one of my previous posts, I really fell in love with that city. I envy all the people on my f-list that live there (I know there are some :D). Lucky you!
Anyway let's start the picspam ;)

Atomic Bomb Museum and Memorial Hall )

Ground zero, Peace Park, Catholic churches, Glover Garden )

I loves to was random XD )

Okay, time to take a shower and get comfy. It's already evening here in Japan :)

Bye-cha!~
