If I stay in Japan (I'm back to 50/50 -_-), I'll need to find a new job and move too. (I'm currently living in teacher's housing.)
So yeah, I'm currently writing applications too just in case I decide to stay. There are no jobs around here unfortunately, so the move will be somewhere a bit far away - probably somewhere around Tokyo as I have some friends there and am familiar with the area.
Anyway, I don't really have much advice to offer except that it looks like you've done your homework on this. From what I've read, moving to another place in Japan seems like the best choice for you. It is much less secure than staying where you are now, but as you pointed out you won't be moving forward at all - and I feel it is time for you to move forward. :)
