genki desu ka ? (^___^#)
I did it AGAIN !!! After posting tons of Prince of Tennis bases I felt like making some icons out of 'em ^^;; ... furthermore I wanted to make some YuHaku icons, finally I managed to do so ^__^ *happy*
AND: this is the FIRST time I´ve worked with NON-anime stuff !!! (~> Hana Yori Dango Live Action !!!~) ^-^b .... it´s a bit different from working with anime/manga bases o.O .... I still need time to get used to it ^^

Problems:
I´m getting more used to masks ^^; it´s pretty fun ! But there are still some masks I´m to stupid to use XDDD .... I´ve tried different coloring techniques for the first time ^^;; ... it´s a bit difficult for mEh .. but it´s fun, too !!~
I have to learn more about coloring techniques ^^ ..... and there´s still my lack of ideas x___X ....

Can you tell me some resources for color filters/textures/patterns/brushes/etc. that do not require credit? (I only know Brush Fantastic, which rocks, but I could use more)

:doesn't get the whole credit thing for tools anyway, since the icons that are made get taken by folks who only credit the icon maker and not the color filter, whatever, maker anyway:

well normally you ALWAYS have to credit the people you got your textures, brushes etc. from !! It doesn´t matter if you snagged them from a internet site or lj.
But it´s not that much work ! You just have to make ONE resources entry (or like me: list them at your user info) ONCE !! That´s usually all you have to do o__O

One of the best reasons for crediting resources is actually for other icon-makers. If someone sees a texture or a brush that they like, they can check the artist's resource credits to learn where they can find the same texture/brush to use in their own work. Crediting an icon-maker for their finished icon is for people who use icons (so that others can find more icons by the same maker if they like the style), but crediting a resource is for the people who use those tools.

:) Plus I think it's just nice as a thank you to the people who spend time to make these nice things for us to use. I say this both as a huge icon lover and as a budding icon maker.

Yes I agree ^^ it´s always easier for people to find what they are looking for - may it be screencaps, bases, textures, icons and whatnot ^^

and you´re right ! we - the icon makers - would be NOTHING without the people who make brushes, textures etc. ^-^
