[Japan / Random]: Weekend, Solar Eclipse, European Jasmine Tea~

YAY (○゜ε^○)v ♪
It's finally weekend!! (*_*)
I still have to get used to working 5 consecutive (!) days now XD
The heat here in Japan is slowly getting too much let alone the humidity.
That just shows that you can't get used to it easily. For a few days now I've had a slight headache and today I'm feeling very dizzy as well.
The heat is really getting to me this time and I have no clue why. Although I shouldn't do it, I'm using the aircon almost non-stop. It's still over 30°C in my room the whole time *melting* (;´д`)ゞ アチィー!!
If you have any good tips as for how to fight this heat, please feel free to tell me XDDDD (I wonder how I survived last year's summer, though.)
I definitely have to drink more and I need a good MINERAL water. Any recommendations for Japanese mineral water????!!!!

My new best friends.

Apart from that, work has been quite a lot of fun this week. Our boss has gone on a trip to Europe with his wife, so it's just us "kids" all alone and that's really a lot of fun.
Yesterday one of my coworkers brought a rubik cube and I was trying the whole time to get all sides done XDDDDD One of our students brought a "trick book", but as everything was in Japanese it was too hard for me XD
I have a rubik cube back home in Germany. If I don't forget, I'll bring it back with me then XD

In July I have to go to the immigration office to get a re-entry permit. It costs about 3000yen (30$). Without it your visa will be cancelled once you come back to Japan.
It's only making money, so I really hate it, but they'll probably get rid of that stupid rule starting from next year anyway.
I have 2 choices as for where to go to get that done. I have yet to decide. One immigration office is quite close to the station and the train to there would be cheap as well, but there's nothing to see.
The other one is far away from the station, so I would have to get a taxi as well and the train ticket costs more as well, but there are tons of shrines, temples, good sushi, the ocean and an aquarium to see, so it might be worth a day trip :)

The health insurance for this year will be WAY MORE expensive than I first thought. ショック☆<( ̄□ ̄;)>☆ショック
Furthermore I have to pay residence tax now which is also hella expensive (over 1000$).
How am I supposed to save any money this way?

Some other random news:

There will be a solar eclipse in Japan in July. Where I live it might be about 85-90% (^-^)
Definitely shouldn't forget about this!! And thanks to [livejournal.com profile] nightstar (without you I wouldn't have know at all) *fails*

Most of you probably know the anime/manga AKIRA, right? Leonardo Di'Caprio wanted to make it into a real-life movie, but it has been cancelled now.

European Jasmine Tea. Huh?
The commercial itself is a little bit too yuri-like XD ("Oh, this tea smells like Jasmine-san." G'uh!)
I wanna try it, though :)

Yay, it's slowly getting better (;^ω^)

Currently reading various things. Toma's as hot as ever. There hasn't been any Toma fangirling in a long time coming from me, huh?
I wonder why?! I'm still all over him, I swear! ヽ(´▽`)/
Furthermore I'm completely into jdramas again. The whole time I wasn't watching more than 1 or 2 dramas at a time, but now it's like WOAH!!!!
Majo Saiban, Smile, Atashinchi no Danshi, Mr. Brain, Slow Dance (older jdrama ~ 2005) and soon starting Boss as well as I've read in a Japanese magazine that it has been voted as the best drama this season, so it must be good.
GAH!~

(*___*) DB doujinshi obsession tbc!
I love Kame House! I wanna get that doujinshi shown above next (*__*) Why are ブルベジdoujinshi so expensive? ;o;

Uhm, I guess that's about it for now.
Trying to post a little bit more this weekend, so stay tuned XD

チャオっス♪(=゚ω゚)ノ!!

Here in the Philippines it's hot as hell, as well. Supposedly it's not summer here anymore. XD

But when we had a 36.5%'C here last May, I ended up taking a shower/bath 5 times.

My tips? Drink lots of water, when you're taking a bath, spent too much time in the water if you have a tub. I actually put on many ice on my bath water so i'll be really cold. XD And don't think of the heat too much. it'll just make you more dizzy and heat up. :)

that's how i survive my summer.

I hope i could help.

Toma! *in love*

Argh, du hast auch einen Kreislaufzusammenbruch? Bei mir geht's derzeit problemlos mit der Hitze, es fühlt sich bei mir im Zimmer kein bisschen wie die angekündigten 27° an, aber die ständigen Wetterwechsel machen mir so zu schaffen!x_X Keine Ahnung, was man aber von der Klimaanlage mal abgesehen machen kann. Vielleicht heiß und kalt duschen?Óò;

It isn't too hot here yet, but I survived last summer by drinking lots and lots of water and keeping a fan and my handkerchief nearby. I also keep my curtains closed during the day so the sun doesn't heat up my apartment more and let's the air conditioner do its job. I like to find a nice coffee shop with good aircon and oishii ice coffees. Other than that I just ganbarre. Schools don't have aircon in the classroom and generally the teachers won't turn it on in the staffroom until very very late in the season so I just suck it up and complain like everyone else.

Its the same here in Singapore~
xD
Hm...my tips would be, bathe 2 times a day with cold water. drink loads of cold water.
best if you can get chrysanthem drink.
it has a cooling effect. ^_^

[identity profile] missmomoko.livejournal.com 2009-06-20 08:48 am (UTC)(link)
In Singapore, I think I was having maybe 2 or 3 quick showers a day. One in the morning, the afternoon and before bed. I think it really refreshes you!

Maybe if you're out and about, you can get wet wipe type things to refresh you (you know they have those things they hand out on aeroplanes and restaurants) and just wipe where needed.

[identity profile] amvn.livejournal.com 2009-06-20 09:23 am (UTC)(link)
I can definitely see why the fan is your best friend nowadays :D must be getting so hot there now. I'm preparing for my trip to Singapore in twelve days now, it's so humid there but now I actually like it :)
I love Jasmine tea, but it didn't quite hit me as a European thing, more like a Chinese or South-East Asian tea. Oh well, I guess it tastes nice :)

Aaah and Toma is soooo hot XDDDD

[identity profile] currynana.livejournal.com 2009-06-20 09:47 am (UTC)(link)
Malaysia is usually hot to, on an average hot day it's like 37 degrees Celsius I think. But I don't know any tips to keep cool apart from the usual like perhaps drink more water and indulge in some cold stuff. Closing the windows might be good, if u dont tht is, so tht the hot air wont go into the house.

Wow, is it coz of the economy that the prices went uppp? that's a lotta money. >< Ganbatte! ^^

TOMAAAAAAA~ hehehe, i wonder who can un-iike Toma. LOL. :P

Have a good weekend! :)

[identity profile] celestica.livejournal.com 2009-06-20 10:35 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps buying some fresh skin cream could also refresh your skin during the day? And probably take cold showers even if it is that cold. Good luck and have a nice weekend <3

Uwaa ARASHI and Toma is beautiful in the magazine O.O

And I love BOSS and MR BRAIN. It's a wonderful drama :D

[identity profile] gintoki-sama.livejournal.com 2009-06-20 11:01 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm.. how 'bout buying popcycles to keep you cool? It works for me though I eat like three and I'm freezing afterwards.
It's not as hot over here in Canada, which is rare. It's always boiling hot, though we've got alot of rain lately.

[identity profile] gabenut.livejournal.com 2009-06-20 11:03 am (UTC)(link)
Toma just keeps getting more and more handsome! Did you manage to catch him on 5LDK? He's so cute around TOKIO, lol.

I didn't know the Akira movie was cancelled! I hope that means for good, cos Di Caprio at least wanted to use Japanese actors in the movie. If someone else gets a hold of it, it might not be the case.

[identity profile] asahifirsa.livejournal.com 2009-06-20 11:06 am (UTC)(link)
I was lucky as in there always was a breeze coming in from the Ocean, so I'd just open my windows (and they're huge in Japan, nearly going down to the floor) and then the cooler wind would come it. Some of my best memories are from that summer in Japan. It also helps not having a room that gets too much sun :) Lot's of water (or in my case it was green tea) also helps of course. Exercise also helps to keep your blood pressure up (in my case living on a mountain and hiking up 15 minutes from the station with my shopping helped).

Concerning the solar eclipse. I planned to go to Tokara-jima, but the tour operator who took over that task has never done anything with it. I'm on the mailing list and there never came any info, just excuses for being late and now it's too late, at least for me. You could still try to see it from Yaku-jima if you have time? Take a plane to Kagoshima (or a train) and then the ferry. Of course reserving a place on the ferry would be good. I've seen one total eclipse and it was amazing. The shadow of the moon racing over the plains towards and then everything turning dark and quiet. Amazing really. With 90% you won't really notice much.

This may sound exotic but it actually works. The women in my family as well as people in south asia for generations have used coconut oil on their hair or head to cool themselves under the really hot deccan sun. :P

ahem, just keep yourself hydrated to avoid a heat stroke! Too much A/C is bad for the environment...

[identity profile] arashiview.livejournal.com 2009-06-20 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
ARASHI! TOMA! ♥♥♥

It's so amazing that you're getting better at your kanji! Good for you!
I often forget the -kun and -on meanings...

Btw, I was wondering how your company works. Did you have to take Japanese classes before you started? Because I know some companies that don't require it but... If you could give me some info on it, it would be much appreciated. Thanks for sharing~

[identity profile] evilblueberry.livejournal.com 2009-06-20 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)
wow its that high in your room?! it makes it sound like the ac doesn't work at all lol A few things you can do is get something to put up on ur windows to block out the sun. Although if I remember correctly your windows are big right? See if they have black out curtains they have a bright white outing on inside of the curtain which draws away the sun from your window. That's what I use cause it gets just has hot in my state as it is where you are so I feel ur pain. You can also put a cold wet rag on the back of your neck and that will relieve you a bit just make sure to put ur hair up in a bun or something so its away from your neck. :)
And too bad your ac is so high up in the room cause then you could have but the fan in front of it.

I just started watching Mr. Brain I havent watched a show with Takuya in a long time. He's really funny in it.

[identity profile] kmakms.livejournal.com 2009-06-20 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
i always read your posts but i've never commented before, it seems your having agreat time, you must let us know if you rtry the Jasmine tea, here in england the weather has been surprisingly good, but i'm cold lol, i've been drinking tea (the good old british kind) to keep warm haha.
I love LOVE Boss, Erika Toda is one of my faves so i decided to watch, the gy guy makes me laugh especially in the first episode, i'm becoming addicted to all these Japanese dramas ^_^
take care, and i look forward to your next entry XD

[identity profile] chochajin.livejournal.com 2009-06-21 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
I don't really take baths. My bathtub is way to small! XD

Thanks for your tips :)

[identity profile] chochajin.livejournal.com 2009-06-21 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
Naja, jetzt regnet's erstmal ne ganze Woche lang wieder. Zumindest hier bei uns.
Leider ist es trotzdem noch genauso heiß/schwül -____-

[identity profile] chochajin.livejournal.com 2009-06-21 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
Woah! Luckily we use aircon in our school. x____X
I would probably melt if not :)

If it's sunny in the morning I always wake up automatically and early, because it's getting unbelievable hot in my room x_X

[identity profile] chochajin.livejournal.com 2009-06-21 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
I know x_X I think Singapore is even worse!!!!
HOw can you guys survive??? I guess you're kind of used to it when you grow up in a hot place, no?!

Thanks for the tip (chrysanthem drink, huh? gotta look out for that ^^)

[identity profile] chochajin.livejournal.com 2009-06-21 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
I don't have time for 2-3 showers per day, although it definitely would be necessary XDDDD

^-^ thanks for your tips :)

[identity profile] chochajin.livejournal.com 2009-06-21 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
Yah, I read about it and I think it's great that your plans changed and you're going to Singapore now! Actually I'm envious! I always wanted to go there, too!!!
I think Singapore might be even hotter than Japan at the moment?! x___X

That's why I wrote "huh?"
I'm pretty sure Jasmine tea is Asian and has nothing to do with Europe at all O___o; ....

Glad we agree on that one ;P
