[Japan]: I think Japan wants me to hate it!?

Hello.

Actually I wanted to write about my new laptop which I use right now to write this entry, but again something happened that kept me from doing so today *sigh*
Luckily I'm really calm by now and can write about it in a non-"HOMG"!!!!! style.

Things seemed to slowly get better after I had so much bad luck (please refer to the last 1341256 entries about my whining).
I watched "Nihonjin no shiranai nihongo" epi 2 when suddenly I saw this:

It was super bright in my room, but it was already around midnight. It was a huge cockroach, much bigger than the first cockroach I ever saw back in October (read about it here).
I guess this one could fly. When I saw it rushing over my floor I got panic immediately! I sure didn't expect to see another roach after I had that 2-days cleaning mania trip in Ocotober and set up MILLIONS of roach traps!!!!!!
This time I was better prepared, though. After October I bought a lot of stuff to get rid of roaches. Never seen one again ever since yesterday night.
I grabbed the special anti-roach spray and sprayed. Probably about 3-4 times, because it was so fast hiding under my bed and stuff, so I couldn't hit it directly.
I was really in panic.
Finally I found it behind my shelf (which I had to move), still half alive, but unable to run away.

As I was a bit in panic I don't know how it happened but shortly after that my nose burned like hell. Somehow I got too much of the spray into my nose.
I tried to wash it out immediately, but it just got worse.
Of course you should air your room after using insect spray, but I can't properly air my room as there's only one balcony door and no windows, so I can't create any airflow.
I used the fan and opened the balcony door and also turned on the AC in order to get the rest of the posion out of my apartment.
The roach was still moving it's legs and stuff even hours later. Although I used a spray that even affected me!!! Roaches are monsters! It was hard to bring myself to go near it and to get it onto a paper towel to flush it in the toilet.....

Although it was almost 1am by then I called one of my awesome Japanese coworkers.
She was not angry at all and tried to help me. She asked her mother if she knew what to do and then she called a hospital.
They told me to wash my hands again and again, my nose again and again and to gargle a few times.
In the end (after 1,5h) it finally became better and I decided I don't have to go to the hospital.

Of course I couldn't sleep. Instead I tried to find out if there were more roaches.
I even used a hair dryer to lure them out of corners that I couldn't reach otherwise.
I live in a very small 1-room-apartment anyways. My bed is in the same room with everything else......
I didn't find anything suspicious at all. Nothing! Not even roach poo or anything XD

I suppose that - just like last time - it was just passing by.
I know roaches are normal in Japan and you'll just have them in your house sometimes. Unlike Europe where it means that your place is extremely dirty, here in Japan they're always there no matter how clean it might be.
This time I didn't throw away any food, most of it is sealed in jars or tupperware anyways.
My neighbor has a lot of garbage bags on her balcony and the doors here are not sealed or anything. It's easy for roaches to come and go. And outside the huge monster spider will await them, so why not stay in people's apartments? ;o; ...

Any additional tips how I could protect myself??
Remember this is Japan! Things can't be compared to back home!

Around 3am I went to bed, but not to sleep. I played around with my ipod touch and I left the light on the whole night. I only closed my eyes a few times, but I never really fell asleep.
I also felt like throwing up the whole time. At that time I wasn't sure if it was me being disgusted, the after effects of the spray or the shock or everything together.
What a horrible night.

As for the doctor story of my last entry.
First of all thanks a lot for your comments! I'm going to answer soon!! :)
I told my coworkers about it. Right now there's only one other foreigner at my workplace and he's never sick, so there are no foreigners I could ask about a doc they'd recommend....
My Japanese coworkers told me, though, that they don't like the docs in the hospital I went to anyways and suggested to try another hospital and they also offered to go with me and explain the doctor about my symptoms and everything.
Right now I feel better (apart from the lack of sleep), so I don't know yet if I'll got next week or not.

I also finally finished preparing for my summer vacation trip which will start in pretty much 1 week. Can't believe it! I hope I'll be fit enough for that!!!

AND NOW PLEASE send some POSITIVE vibes to me!!!
Honestly I can't stand more shit than that!!!!! Just too much crap at once lately, don't you think???

Love ya all!!! (^-^)/
