Merry Christmas / メリークリスマス♪

I just wanted to use the opportunity to wish you all Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
I hope you get to spend some quiet time with your loved ones - or at least some relaxed days off.

In Germany, the 24ths is probably the most important day of Christmas.
We have a feast on Christmas Eve, come together and open the presents under the tree.
The 25th and 26th are national holidays where a lot of people then visit more relatives and exchange presents.

It's quite different from how Japan celebrates Christmas.
Christmas Eve is usually for couples who then go on a date.

How do you celebrate Christmas in your country (if at all) and more importantly who's bringing the presents?

Thanks so much for sticking around this year!

Bye~chuu!~

I forgot to mention in the comments of the posts, but Merry Christmas to you too *hugs*
This year unfortunately I volunteered to work Christmas Eve at the tourist information again, as we do not close *sigh* but thankfully I am back-office answering emails so I steal some time to reply at your LJ hehe ;)
Working tomorrow and Boxing Day as well. And the rest of the holiday week... Hopefully NOT next year XD *I wish for a new job for Christmas* lol

I wish you good luck with your job opportunity in Japan!! :33333

Merry Christmas to you too! The 25th is the big day in the UK and we all have a big Christmas dinner, open presents, generally eat too much and watch the Queen's Speech. A lot of people stay with their parents for the day itself but we spend it with just the two of us and visit family between Christmas and New Year.

Sounds lovely, too. :)
Do you guys have any national holidays during that time?

The 26th is Boxing Day which is always a bank holiday. Then New Year's Day is also one. Otherwise the days in between Xmas and New Year are working days for some places but not all. My firm gave us the 27th off and I had leave to use up so don't go back until the 2nd. Thankfully!

I hope you get some time off? :)

This Christmas we celebrated on the eve. Usually we do everything on Christmas Day. In had to work on Christmas Day and that is why we celebrated on Christmas Eve.

A friend of mine celebrates both.
The father is German, the mother from the UK. The kid grows up having presents on Christmas Eve (only a few) and in the morning of the 25th. Not bad. ;P

We've always celebrated Christmas the exact same way it's done in Japan, minus the KFC, because my dad is an amazing cook. I often feel confused as to why people think Japan celebrates Christmas so differently, lol. My friend from Canada feels the same.
Christmas eve for couples. Christmas day for Family.
Cake and food. Illuminations.

Although, this year was rather fun, as the daughter of a coworker decided to educate me on "the origins of Christmas." Were you aware that Christmas was the day that Jesus rose from the dead, perfectly preserved because of the snow had kept his body from decaying? And that is why the day before eve, Christmas eve, and Christmas are the coldest days in December.
When I asked her where she learned that, she said her English teacher taught her XD. Uh....

Because it IS different from some countries. :)
For us Christmas Eve is the main part and DEFINITELY spent with the family, opening presents etc. ;)
Christmas Day is not that important.

Haha, that's so cute ... but WTF? XD

I mean I always hear people say it about the west. I don't know other countries. But I know it's not different from the west lol.

Yeah, idk. That girl....
