[Japan Photos]: Ginza + Yurakuchou + some random shots
This time it´s Ginza (銀座) and Yurakuchou (有楽町).
Before I start blabbering, something totally random: The 町in 有楽町 can be read as either "machi" or "chou". In this case it´s read as chou. I was discussing this with some of my Japanese friends, because there are TONS of city-names with this kanji in it and each time you use another reading for it. But all of them told me that there is basically no rule and SOMETIMES even Japanese don´t know which one to use (I discovered this when I was checking out a map together with Yumi-chan).
Anyway ... I have rather good memories of Ginza where I went to a concert of a friend of Yumi-chan (more about this later) and also of Yurakuchou where
hesaki and me went to meet a German fellow worker of her who´s working and living in Japan for over 6(?) years now.
I´ve decided to post some totally random shots of Tokyo ... and Kyoto this time as well, hope you like them.
Here we go!

Ginza. It was totally hot that day - it was already my 3rd week in Japan. Yumi-chan and me were on our way to the classical concert I mentioned before.
I didn´t take a lot of photos because it was really hot and ... I was suffering a lot XD ... *lol* ... no, seriously we needed some time to find the place and I was so thirsty and it was so damn hot!
You really recognize that Japanese are used to that heat while we Europeans almost die! XD

Well you can see on this pic that a lot of people have umbrellas because of the sun (T_T)
Ginza itself was (apart from the heat) very interesting. A lot of (expensive) department stores EVERYWHERE!
Well, we didn´t have time to check them out, we were in a hurry (^^')

I can´t remember what day it was, but I think it was a weekend, so perhaps that´s why there were so many people (^^;)

Oh and the street was closed for cars, that´s something that they always do on weekends I think ... I can´t remember what Yumi-chan told me about that XD .. remember I was half-dead back then! XDD

Somehow we arrived at the small concert room (save and sound XD).
I totally forgot to take photos there, but it was REALLY interesting. I´m absolutely not interested in classical music, but it was still very nice.
3 Japanese girls (one of them the friend of Yumi-chan) were holding that concert (1 singer, 1 pianist, 1 clarinet). Aaaand it was all IN GERMAN!!!! XD
Yes ... Schubert and the likes, of course. So me and another guy were prolly the only ones who could understand it all! XDDDD

After the concert we talked to those girls (the one with the blue dress is Yumi-chan´s friend). The other German guy was actually a professor of a German music university and those 3 girls are studying in Germany, so their German was pretty good.
That prof came to me and talked to me in German for a while ^^ It was quite nice :)
After that we ALL went to eat something together. Those 3 girls, Yumi-chan, another friend of her and me. So we were 6 girls and I was the only non-Japanese one XD .. but ALL of them could speak German to some degree ^^; ....
So it was VEEERY interesting for all of us :D
(Side Note: I totally had to think about Nodame Cantabile all of the time and while we were eating the pianist girl brought it up and then we talked about Nodame Cantabile XDDDDD)

That´s where we went to eat. It had food of almost EVERY country! Germany as well XD ....
I already told you this, but at first I was staring at the menu while the others already ordered something ... I said I also wanna eat something and was still checking out the menu ... then they explained to me that we are now eating the Japanese way which means that they all order s.th. together. It will be placed in the middle of the table and then everyone can try everything ^-^;
When the waitress came she noticed that we were also speaking in German and said IN GERMAN that she also knows a bit of German, because her boyfriend is German ... HELL WHERE DID I GET MYSELF INTO THIS TIME??!!
Everyone around me was speaking German, was I really in Japan? XD ....
Anyway .. I already said that we were talking about Nodame Cantabile, but we were also talking about a lot of other dramas and JE boys XD .. they were impressed that I know so much about Japanese entertainment and all (this happens all of the time XD ...).
I also said that Toma´s my #1 right now and they wanted to know what I think about Japanese men XD ... (yes, that was not the first time) .. of course I was kind of embarrassed .. imagine 5-6 Japanese girls sitting in front of you, staring at you ... what would you do? XDDDD
I said that I think that Japanese men are quite nice and all .... but I didn´t start spazzing and fangirling *lol* XD

After we finished eating it was already dark. Ginza at night is really gorgeous!
We parted shortly after that, but before that I bought some REALLY YUMMIE cakes @ Fujiya (I´ve already posted a photo of these) for Yumi-chan´s parents and us ;P
Well, that´s basically it. I hope I haven´t forgotten anything important (^^;)
Next, Yurakuchou. This was in my 2nd week when
hesaki was still by my side.
As already said we were supposed to meet a coworker of her there. We went to eat something and talked a lot.
Just some random shots of Yurakuchou at night:

See? I TOLD YOU THAT HE WAS EVERYWHERE!!!! ;o; ....
@

Sumo mitsuketaaa!~

Believe it or not, they were holding a plate with food on it! XD ...

I told you he´s everywhere ... I TOLD YOU!!! (°_____O'')

That was right beisde the place we were eating ^^

hesaki discovered s.th. German again XD

Anyway .. after eating dinner we went to this bar to drink some cocktails ^-^;

Random shot of the inside.No, I´m not stalking anyone!!

*lol* XD
Okay, because I thought that there are not enough photos yet for this entry, I decided to upload some random shots as well.
Here we go:

That was the station next to our hotel in Tokyo (it´s near Shinagawa).

At the station itself.

That´s also in the station building XD ... it was a veeeeeeeeeeeery long escalator XDDDD Nee,
hesaki? XD

And this is what you can see when you walk from the station to the hotel .... McDonalds on the left side ...

... and Starbucks on the right side ... (-__-'') .... XD

Okay VEEEERY random: Japanese Windows XD
... which reminds me ... when I was watching Hanakimi ep11 I was REALLY about making an entry here in LJ and wanted to spazz like crazy, but then again I thought I shouldn´t give you any spoilers ... furthermore I was tired AND I HATE JAPANESE KEYBOARDS!!! XDDDD
They´re really getting on my nerves XD ...

*loool* One of the various cute and funny signs that exist in Japan XD
Sign: "You have forgotten s.th.!" XDDD *ahem*
What I was wondering about: When do you use "wan" (ワン) and when "inu" (犬) ??!! o__O;

Random densha shot (*-*) ... for some reason I really love those! (^-^)

Random trash can in Kyoto. I thought it was too cute! ^^

We also made photos of trains and shinkansen ... which was not always easy, because the shinkansen REALLY start pretty fast and .. yeah XD

Well, but we had some time while we were waiting for our shinkansen, so .. we got quite some shinkansen photos ^^ ....

... and something else as well .. can you see it? No ...?!

... here´s TEH ZOOM!!! (*_________________*) Yay for Arashi! (^3^)

Random shot of inside a train again. *cough*on the righ*cough* ... fashionable young Japanese girl (in German we also say "Tusse" XDDD *ahem*)

And that was inside *our* shinkansen which brought us from Kyoto Central Station to Shinagawa in Tokyo ^^ ... (via Nagoya and Shin Yokohama).
Is it just me or ... are there ONLY OLD MEN??!! ... XD

Train station ... no idea where it was .. perhaps s.b. else recognizes it?

*lol* .. yes really photos of EVERYTHING, nee? ... This is where you go through if you go to the rails or leave them. You have to stick your ticket in otherwise you won´t be able to pass :)
I love the Japanese railways system ^^;

Oh, this is important! This shows you where you have to go. Each railway line has its own color.
The most important for Tokyo is prolly the Yamanote Line (light green) ^^

Again, totally random shot.

WAAAAIIII!!! They were sooooooooooooooooooooooo cute!!!! (*____*)

WAAAH!!! IKEA is eeeeeeeeverywhere! I was really, really surprised to see this in JAPAN!! (°____o;)

Again totally random ... I´m sorry ;o;

*lol* this is soooooooooooo convenient!!! XDDDD ...

We found KAMEEEEEE!!!! ... well ... almost ;P
Aren´t they cute? (^3^)

Japanese and their favorite sport ...

They really do love baseball XD

And finally: This was in an elevator in our hotel in Tokyo ... I just lol-ed like crazy, so we took a photo of it XDDDD
Ahem ... such a long entry. I´m sorry to spam your f-list like that lately.

I love all the cute signs the Japanese have! No matter how old they are, they all seem to have the same passion for kawaii stuff ^_^ not like here where so many grown-ups roll their eyes to cute animal characters (well, I guess my parents are an exception but they've always have had this childish wibe to them lol XDDD, especially my dad) The one with the dog is hillarious, we should definetely have one like those here as so many dog owners are so careless about picking up their dogs excrements *_* hehe I remember I once saw a Japanese school children sign with a duck and her little ducklings, so cute ^_^
And also, the kames and the school children are so cuuute!! Where did you find the turtles btw?

xD How are Japanese keyboards like?
XD at dog sign.
For the rails things with the ticket you have to insert. how come
there aren't any of the things in the middle that stick out. it looks
like anyone can just pass through w/o a ticket.
Hehe Ikea. I love it. I'm glad the US has them here~

I don't get it. XDD!

The subway looks pretty easy to follow cuz of the different colors
I thought Ikea was a Japanese company.. is it actually German?
What's the sign for in the bathroom? to tell u which toliet is occupied already or something?
McDonalds' advertisement in their window almost gave me a heart attack lol I dunno what they are selling for 880 and 1100 yen but I was totally in shock since Im so use to it being no more then $6 here lol I think if I went in there I'd be looking to see if they had a 100 yen menu lol
Oh did u see the Johnny store while u were there? I know its in tokyo but i forget which part lol

Well, usually I love heat and I don´t mind it at all, but if you´re walking around the whole day .. then it´s REALLY ... woah -__-; ... but I survived it somehow :D
Yes, Japanese signs are soooooooooooooo cute (as well as everything else as well XD)
That´s so true!!! I´ve seen tons of old men reading manga and stuff ... or walking through a san-x store and what not .... in Germany everyone would think they´re strange OR they´re just buying s.th. for their kids or so ... but in Japan it´s totally normal, nee? ^^
Wah! Give me your parents please! :D XDDDD
Hmm ... I think we discovered the turtles in Kyoto near Fushimi Inari ^^
no subject
Oh yes, that´s so true! XD

It's interesting that you were surrounded by German stuff. xD
I think wan is just a cutesy-er way of referring to dogs and inu is the normal way. Wan wan!
Kame! xDDD
I love baseball! It's in my blood! xD I think my family in Japan are crazy baseball fans too.

Oh, if I remember correctly it was like that:
You can stick your tickent in if you see that arrow (then it´s open), it will only close if your ticket is not right (you haven´t paid enough or whatever). There are officers sitting right beside those thingies, so you wouldn´t be able to just pass without sticking your ticket in PLUS Japanese people are just as honest as that!!!!
*lol* it just shows you where you can find what kind of toilet and if it´s occupied or not XD

Wah! *lol*
no subject
IKEA Japanese?? XD .. Ahem, no it´s actually Swedish :D
The owner of all the IKEA stores is currently the richest man of the world, even richer than Bill Gates (as far as I know ^^;)
Yeah, it tells you where what kind of toilet is and if it´s occupied or not :D
SURE!!!!!!!! In Harajuku ^^; ... don´t worry there will be a HUGE picspam about the Johnny shop and Harajuku in general, cuz I LOVED Harajuku ^^;;;
no subject
Yes, that´s what I think as well XD ... it´s still STRANGE to read "wan" on an official sign, that wouldn´t be possible here in Germany I guess XD ... or nobody would take that sign serious anymore, I guess XD
Baseball is sooooooooo not popular in Germany. I don´t know of a single Baseball team in Germany .... *lol* XDDD
no subject
I guess it's an American/Japanese thing. xD
I suck at anything remotely athletic so most people assume I don't like sports. But I srsly get fired up when it comes to being a baseball fan. xD

*lol* Und meiner Erfahrung nach gibt´s eh wenige Japaner die mit Nicht-Japanerinnen zusammen sind (^^;) ... aber du solltest wirklich erstmal in Japan Urlaub machen und sehen, ob´s dir gefällt bevor du dich in so ein Abenteuer stürzt ^^; .. ich will´s ja vor allem deshalb machen, weil ich mich durch meinen Urlaub erst recht in das Land verliebt habe, aber es gibt genug, die sich Japan ganz anders vorgestellt hatten und dann erstmal vor den Kopf gestoßen werden ^^;
Und ich sag auch ganz ehrlich, dass es vieles gibt, was mir in Japan nicht gefällt! Deshalb möchte ich dort auch niemals leben und arbeiten - auf Dauer! ^^;
Ach was! Ich find´s interessant!! (^3^)

XDD
Hmm, also IKEA war ziemlich außerhalb.. in Chiba.
