[Japanese]: JLPT mock test and blabbering

Just a quick "Hi" from me,

I know it's been a while again and actually there're quite a few things I want to post here, but right now I don't have time. I'm sorry.

I just want to share my childish happiness right now XD As everybody knows the JLPT is taking place worldwide today (Sunday, December, 7th). I thought that this is A GREAT OPPORTUNITY to try my first mock test ever.
I decided to go for 3級, although I don't intend to ever take it for real. I want to take 2級 next year (hopefully).

So ... well, it was my first test ever and I didn't prepare for it at all. Here are my results:

Kanji/Vocab: 91/100
Grammar/Reading: 172/200
Listening: 87/100
Percentage: ~88% (60% needed to pass)

As expected grammar was my weak point. I never study grammar, so ... either the grammar was so easy that I just knew what was right or I tried to guess from what I thought sounded most naturally (because I've already heard somebody saying it like that). Seems to be the right strategy XD

I want to try a 2級 mock test next, but I KNOW that I will fail completely .... Vocab and even kanji should be okay. I'm pretty sure I will completely fail the grammar part and I have no idea about the listening/reading section. That's why I have to try sooner or later ^^; .....
I know that the gap between 3級 and 2級 is huge, but I still hope that I can manage to get 60% for the 2級 next year (^^'') .....

Yes ... and that's all I wanted to write right now. Gotta go back to my studies in a second and there's still other work/visa-related stuff to do (will talk about that some other time).

Random: What Japanese people think about the real life Dragonball movie (sorry mixi members only). And talking about Dragonball ... I'm pretty sure almost everybody has watched it by now, but there's a new Dragonball special. You can download it here if you're interested. Uhm ... yeah ... I only say Vegeta's little brother ... (x____X) ..... uh, well. Was nice to see/listen to everybody again :)


P.S.: It was snowing yesterday for the first time here in my little city in Japan. It's getting colder and colder.

sorry for barging in but i have to say i envy you knowing how to read, write and speak in japanese, i wish i could xD for the sake of the fun and also for my manga grp xD

Huh? Well, thanks, but do you know that 3kyuu is still a pretty low level? I think everybody can pass it with only a little bit of studying! That's why I wrote "childish happiness" - it's actually kind of ... stupid to be happy about that score in such an easy test XD
But yes, recently I only read manga in Japanese (easy ones - shoujo manga mainly) and I understand quite a lot - by far not everything, though. It's enough to enjoy manga :)

I have no clue when I'm confronted with Japanese grammar! XD

Well, as you know 3kyuu is not a big deal anyway - that's why I wrote "childish happiness" because I think it's stupid to be happy about that kind of score in 3kyuu XD

I thought it was kind of easy, yes. The listening was one of the easiest parts (at least for me).
Where are you taking your test?

You can do it, don't worry! 3kyuu is really not difficult (that's why I was able to get almost 90% XD).

Wow, you did great! Congrats! I hope one day I can be that good. I'm taking a class this year with my friends, so hopefully by the end of it I'll be able to write and have a good conversatiions with it (^w^)

It's getting cold over here too. I always find myself drrssong in more layers and snuggling under my comforter ~ =3

Well, 3kyuu is still a pretty low level. I guess that's why I rocked the test .. kind of.
I don't wanna see my 2kyuu score ... but on the other hand I'm too curious to not to take it XD

Naja, momentan lerne ich noch nicht gezielt auf den 2kyuu und wenn's so weit ist, muss ich mich wohl auf Grammatik konzentrieren ^^;

congrats. :) did you time it like the real test would be...? the hardest thing about ２級 especially is the time limit for the reading/grammar section, so be sure to include that in your practice eventually. :[

Yes, of course. I heard about the fact that time might be a problem in the test ... but actually I had quite a lot of time left after each part (apart from the listening of course).

Congrats, that's an awesome result you got! :) So 2 is a higher level than 3? Usually it's opposite here, where 1 is the easiest and then it go upwards with difficulty. Nice to know though, since I'll probably take this in the future!

Yes, that's how it is in Japan with EVERYTHING ^^; .... all the English tests my students take are the same ... if it's not numbers, then it's ABC with A being the highest level XD ... often they have something like Pre-2 or Pre-A, too :) (like a level inbetween to levels XD).
You definitely should take JLPT in the future, yes :)

Well, I don't have Christmas holidays as I have to work during Christmas time (as you know they don't have Christmas here in Japan, so everybody works). But my winter vacation (which is again way too short) starts end of December and I'll go to Tokyo to meet Yumi and her family ^^ ... after that I'm not sure yet. Maybe I go to Sendai for a few days :)
