[Japanese]: JLPT mock test and blabbering
Just a quick "Hi" from me,
I know it's been a while again and actually there're quite a few things I want to post here, but right now I don't have time. I'm sorry.
I just want to share my childish happiness right now XD As everybody knows the JLPT is taking place worldwide today (Sunday, December, 7th). I thought that this is A GREAT OPPORTUNITY to try my first mock test ever.
I decided to go for 3級, although I don't intend to ever take it for real. I want to take 2級 next year (hopefully).
So ... well, it was my first test ever and I didn't prepare for it at all. Here are my results:
As expected grammar was my weak point. I never study grammar, so ... either the grammar was so easy that I just knew what was right or I tried to guess from what I thought sounded most naturally (because I've already heard somebody saying it like that). Seems to be the right strategy XD
I want to try a 2級 mock test next, but I KNOW that I will fail completely .... Vocab and even kanji should be okay. I'm pretty sure I will completely fail the grammar part and I have no idea about the listening/reading section. That's why I have to try sooner or later ^^; .....
I know that the gap between 3級 and 2級 is huge, but I still hope that I can manage to get 60% for the 2級 next year (^^'') .....
I wish everybody who is taking the test today good luck!

Yes ... and that's all I wanted to write right now. Gotta go back to my studies in a second and there's still other work/visa-related stuff to do (will talk about that some other time).
Random: What Japanese people think about the real life Dragonball movie (sorry mixi members only). And talking about Dragonball ... I'm pretty sure almost everybody has watched it by now, but there's a new Dragonball special. You can download it here if you're interested. Uhm ... yeah ... I only say Vegeta's little brother ... (x____X) ..... uh, well. Was nice to see/listen to everybody again :)
P.S.: It was snowing yesterday for the first time here in my little city in Japan. It's getting colder and colder.

Kanji/Vocab: 91/100
Grammar/Reading: 172/200
Listening: 87/100
Percentage: ~88% (60% needed to pass)

I know that I'm not even close to ready for 2kyuu yet. Especially when I look at YOUR entries in Japanese ... wow .... there are dimensions between us .. still ^^;

And thanks so much.
I'm a little bit afraid of the new testing format though. I'm not sure when exactly they'll release it. I don't think it will be next year already?!
Do you think about giving 1kyuu a try next year? ^^

i talked to my private tutor about possibly giving 1級 a try next year and she advised against it, saying that it would be too hard, so i guess not. :/ i think i may just take the 留学生試験 for japanese and then try to either get into a uni with it or go to a japanese language school in 2010...
i really dont know x-x;

I heard that the gap between 3kyuu and 2kyuu is the biggest. So the gap between 2kyuu and 1kyuu should be smaller. But I bet that 1kyuu is tougher in many, many ways x___X
My ultimate goal is to pass it one day.
I also want to attend a language school in 2010 XDDD ... once I have saved enough money that is.
Do you want to go there full-time? :)
And what would you do if you get into a Japanese university?
no subject
if i go to a language school, i`d like to go full-time, but there would probably be money issues... if i could afford it, i would def go full-time.
as for uni, i really dont know yet... i have to decide what field i`d like to get into first, that`s the hard part. :(

*nods nods* I know exactly what you mean x___x *sigh*
But wouldn't uni be quite expensive, too?
And aren't you finished with uni already?
I think uni is not an option for me. I already have a masters degree and I don't intend to do any research or stuff in the near future, either (-__-')

as for 1級, i think i might look over some 1級 past tests and study materials and judge for myself how hard it`ll be...

I don't know yet either. I can't think of anything I want to study besides Japanese (history and culture maybe) or ... I don't know.
As I don't know what I want to do after my job here, I don't know anything at all XDDD ... I just know that I want to become somewhat fluent in Japanese and after that we'll see :) .... *pathetic*
Yeah, I think that's the best idea. Don't listen to others, but try it out yourself :)

Yes, let's be pathetic together. It's fun ;P
Thanks and yes good luck to both of us XD
