[Japan Travel]: Hiroshima - Day 2 (part 2)

Hello

Sorry for the long wait. Here's finally part 2 of day 2 (^-^'') in Hiroshima.

Hiroshima Day 2 (part 2) (April 2nd, 2010):

So after having lunch, I left Hiroshima St. area and went to the opposite side of the station in order to climb up to the peace pagoda.
In Japan, almost every station has some type of statues somewhere close by. I liked this one.

Random cat shot ❤

So on your way to the Peace Pagoda there are a lot of temples and shrines. As I still had lots of time, I decided to visit at least some of them.

There were a loooooo~ot of sakura trees on my way (*-*)v

Dropped by the first temple.

I like this photo. If only there was no house in the background

These were cute. Too bad they were not for sale :/

The "back" or let's call it "the other side" of Hiroshima station with all its temples and shrines is really nice and quiet. No tourists there. Well, I figured that most tourists don't have enough time to go there ;)

Is it just me or are all the photos a bit overexposed? (-__-)~*sigh*

I wish I had a tree like that in my garden. And then, you can sit under such a beautiful tree and read books, listen to music or just relax. Paradise!!!
Too bad that I don't have a garden :/

TeH colors!! (*_*)v

Just ONCE I wanna trample all over it. Don't you think that would be fun? Just ONCE!!!!!!~

They look like artificial plastic flowers, ne? But they're the real thing!! ^-^

Frogs and tanukis are friends :D
(I just watched "Pom Poko" the other day. One of the best Studio Ghibli movies, if you ask me :D [/random])

There were really a LOT of frogs! XD

I tried so hard to get a good shot, but it's still not exactly straight :( The scenery was perfect, though.
Too bad that I suck :(

Colors are love!

On my way to the next stop, I saw these two awesome cars! XD

That's a playground in the background. I took a rest there and watched some boys playing soccer because at that point my feet really started to hurt (^-^') ....

Pink stuff is even growing on walls!!! (*_*)v

Look, twins!!!

It's raining sakura!

So, from this shrine I could go to the Peace Pagoda. It was really a long walk (considering that my feet hurt so much and it was getting dark soon, so I wanted to hurry a bit XD).

Sakura and stones.

Still walking around the shrine itself.

I was the only one there :)

After walking up and up and many many many stairs later I finally reached the top and thus the PEACE PAGODA :D
There were quite a lot of cherry blossom trees up there as well :) Beautiful!

It was getting a bit darker. I had to take a break again. My clothes were completely wet and up there was a cold wind, I was sooo afraid I would get sick afterwards, but .. I didn't :D

I enjoyed the nice view over Hiroshima.

I thought it's better to go back before it's getting dark (although I wanted to take night shots from up there, but it seemed to be kind of dark and I was the only one there, so ... scary?! XD)

On my way down, I met this cute little guy :D

I hurried up so that I would be back before sunset at the Memorial Peace Park to take some nice sunset shots.

I'm sorry that I suck so much. At least my compact camera did a decent shot and provided nice photos of the awesome sky :D
That's the A-Bomb Dome again :)

I think that's one of the best photos?!

I was walking around in circles to catch all sorts of different light situations. I hope you like it XD

Really just rushing by, I spotted that German name for a flower (?) "Duftwolke".

From the other side the light was completely different as you can see. Perfect colors!

The sky that day was really perfect! Making up for the rainy day before ;)

I came back to the 2 statues I took a photo of earlier and saw a crowd of people in front of them taking photos like crazy.
I wondered what was going on. When I stood in front of them I saw that the light and colors were just awesome and took some photos, too XD

And then, the sun was gone. I went back into the shopping arcade and finally back to my hotel.

Cameras used: Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 and Pentax K-x
The Pentax photos seem to be wider as their height is shorter.

The next day, I checked out and took the Shinkansen, just to get off at the next station already XD which was Fukuyama with its nice castle and a lot of cherry blossoms.
Coming up next: Fukuyama and Onomichi

Awesome photos! I still can't get used to carrying my camera around and my photos (taken with a mobile phone) are not very good. But yours are beautiful! ^^

Aaah me want a sakura-tree in my garden too XD I'd much rather have it raining sakura flowers than the slab we have here right now *sigh*
Again, gorgeous colours, not just the flowers but the temples and the sky :)

Your Pentax k-x camera is absolute ♥
The cherry blossoms are so pretty and yes that picture is indeed one of the best photos (I would def hang that picture on my wall). The sun fitted into the picture just perfectly. I love all your pictures though lol ♥

maybe it looks better because it's a smaller size than what you actually took? although i do have to admit that the buildings in the pic aren't particularly exceptional
