[Japan Life]: What A Busy Life!!

Hey there!

I haven't been able to update in a while.
Jeez, I've been so insanely busy! Not in a bad way, but still!
Sooooooooooo many things happened. It will take ages to update, so today's just a very short review.

I can't even remember the last time I was home where I really spent the whole day in my apartment without going anywhere.

Some time in February I went to the Sapporo Yuki Matsuri. Then I was busy with selling things here on LJ. In March I went to enjoy plum blossoms and was still busy with selling stuff, planning my next few vacations etc.
And since then things got really crazy!

Spring Vacation 2014:

I had 9 days off around the end of March / early April and some of you might remember that I said I didn't plan anything and that I had no idea where to go.
The first day of my vacation was rainy anyways, so I decided to stay at home. I ended up meeting [livejournal.com profile] asahifirsa who happened to be in Japan and nearby at that time.
I came back in the evening, decided to go somewhere after all. Finished booking hotels, packed, crawled to bed and after only 3 or so hours of sleep I was off to Shizuoka.

You can see more photos and all of my stops here.

The following Sunday I met [livejournal.com profile] asahifirsa again. She told me she wanted to go to the "Phallus Festival".
I've already been there in 2012, but as I was nearby and it was supposed to rain (like most of the time of my spring vacation), I decided to go.
It has become insanely popular! Even more people were there compared to 2012! Lots of foreigners, too! Crazy! XD

Afterwards we went to a cat café in Shibuya where we had to wait in line for an hour or so.

Yes, we're crazy travel mates, aren't we?
Meeting in Kansai, going into completely different directions afterwards and then meeting in Tokyo once again - and that although I didn't plan anything until the very last minute. ^^;;

I also got to meet Yumi again, and her two cute daughters! (photos will follow another time)

Well, I had a great time, though!

Back to work and to many other things I couldn't take care of until then and the next weekend was ahead. But we had a special event at work (photos will follow another time) and so I had to work on the weekend as well.
Another busy week at work followed and I was off to a wedding of a former co-worker for that weekend.

Somewhere in between all this craziness I had many other things to do like planning my Golden Week Vacation, for example. Not to mention that my full-time job has become busier than ever - just like expected.

Well, my Golden Week Vacation started yesterday, but as you can see I'm writing this and that probably means I'm not travelling!

First of all it's raining cats and dogs, but what actually happened is that I got sick! Yeah .....
I already felt it on my last day of work and really crawled to bed the night before my planned departure.
I cancelled the first night and stayed at home.
Today I'm already feeling better, but still not 100% fit, so although it breaks my heart, I decided to cancel another night and stay at home.
I will probably leave tomorrow night. That means I will have lost 3 whole days of travelling and I had to change my itinerary again, cancelled a few hotels, booked some others.
But I guess my body just needed some rest. (I haven't been sick in 5-ish months! New record?!? And I was surrounded by lots of sick students! XD No wonder I got finally sick!)
Still very sad about the bad timing, but I try not to whine about it. Instead I'm looking forward to the rest of GW! :)

And once GW is over there are soooooooooooooooooooooooooo many things to do!
I procrastinated everything until after GW!! I need to restart my sales entries here on LJ and continue selling stuff, I need to prepare to move, I need to work on my blog, reply to e-mails and requests and and and .... phew!!!

Sorry for the very short update.

Hope everyone is doing well!
How was your spring vacation?

Currently ongoing for a week.  Just being off work is bliss. I hope you get to enjoy the rest of your Golden Week! : )

Yes, since work has been so busy it's especially nice that I can relax now. Even now that I'm sick. ^^

Thank you! :D

Hi there! Yes, spring break is so much needed! After going through almost all Japan, I just can't believe you opted to go to Tokyo at the end :) but as you said some time has passed so festivals there must have something new and also new attractions. That Cat cafe, I have seen videos about it but I just can't grasp the appealing of eating surrounded by so many cats, they are cut but I think I'm more a dog person, maybe because I was raised with so many dogs at home.

Well, hope your health improves soon and you can enjoy Golden week!

Haha, I was on Tokyo for only half a day to see the cherry blossoms of Chidorigafuchi. XD
I always try to see new things as you know. ;)

Totally understand. I'm a cat person, grew up with cats and can't have cats here in Japan (apartment doesn't allow pets), so cat cafés are a nice alternative.

Thank you! :)

Love your festival pics (sooo funny!) and I can't wait for you to post more pics of other things that you mention in the entry!

[identity profile] chochajin.livejournal.com 2014-04-29 07:47 am (UTC)(link)
Please be patient as I don't know when I'll have time to post them and thank you! ^____^

Oh no of course, I meant that in the kindest way, not actual impatience! @_@

[identity profile] chochajin.livejournal.com 2014-04-29 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I didn't mean it in any bad way, either! ;)
No worries. *hugs*

Lovely photos (as usual (;), that is so cool there is a cat cafe. :D Just another reason for me to visit Japan. :3

They even have owl cafés now. O____o'''

[identity profile] asahifirsa.livejournal.com 2014-05-05 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
With real owls? Oh god, please take me there next time!!!

[identity profile] chochajin.livejournal.com 2014-05-07 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't know you were interested in owls. We could have gone there. XD

[identity profile] asahifirsa.livejournal.com 2014-05-08 11:13 am (UTC)(link)
Owls are like the cutest things ever!!!

I'm happy you got to experience so much, especially meeting up with friends! :)
I booked strategically when I went to Japan to avoid GW, I guess it must be crowded everywhere now.
Tokyo was awesome but I feel almost bad to say it's the least impressive place in Japan I've been yet (!) Just so many tourists around and so crowded it doesn't even feel like Japan sometimes! But nontheless I had a good time there, especially meeting our colleagues in Ueno Zoo :)
Hope you have a great GW vacation! ^-^

[identity profile] chochajin.livejournal.com 2014-05-09 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
Actually it was ok where I went. Seems like even most Japanese people don't know about the places I visited this time! ;)

[identity profile] asahifirsa.livejournal.com 2014-05-05 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
That's only because we're criss crossing the country like crazy so we're bound to meet once or twice when traveling at the same time :) I should really get back to blogging about my travels, but sooooo busy!

[identity profile] chochajin.livejournal.com 2014-05-07 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
Haha! XD
Yeah, I hear you. I should go back to blogging, but I just came back from my GW vacation and I have so many things to do until the next weekend. Phew.
