Cuts, cuts², cuts³ in the German Naruto version

Well, as I´ve already told you in this post Naruto is now on German tv.
A lot of people have been complaining about the German version.
The voices are not fitting, they pronounce some of the names wrong.
And the German opening which isn´t even in German is horrible, too !!

But the most annoying thing are the cuts. We have the US version of Naruto - and as you might know there are already a lot of cuts - but the German version has even MORE cuts !
I want to give you some examples here - you will soon know what I´m talking about:

So as you can see the Americans cut out the weapon and a BIT of the blood. The Germans cut out the WHOLE thing !!! So as you can imagine the story changes a lot with stuff like that !!!
Everyone looks shocked and we Germans only think "Huh ? Why ? He has only a SMALL wound that isn´t even bleeding !!!" ... OMG ! *shakes head*

Yes, they actually DID it. ... They DID it. ..... I´m curious how he will fight with not really having a weapon. How can they DO that ?
Why are they broadcasting a series that they obviously consider to be too violent ???!!!! THEN broadcast sport series or e.g. Yakitate Japan! .. oh no wait, they´re throwing bread at horses, that´s NOT good ! The little kids might do that, too, and that´s just too cruel and violent, isn´t it ? XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
If they want that series to be for LITTLE children then why did they make an ENGLISH opening ???!!! Little children in Germany CAN´T understand English you know ?!? XDDDDDD .... oh well.



Finally some scenes that were totally left out !:

Heh~ and the best thing is that they showed his sword the next episode anyway (x_x;) ... you really get crazy watching THAT ! o___o ....

That´s a good question, I have NO idea ! Furthermore it´s CLEAR that Sasuke throws weapons, it´s just obvious, so overpainting it doesn´t make any sense o__o ... *sigh*

....and like I often said about the US dub. It could have been worse...and as you see, in Germany it IS worse.

Oh yeah, there were violent cartoons, no denying that. In fact, I love cartoons that basically tells kids "You play with weapons and you're going to get hurt." But yeah, I remember watching TV shows with violence and then re-playing them. *checks sanity meter* And yeah, we're still sane. We haven't turned into psychotic murderers. But as kids, um...dying doesn't mean the same thing as actually dying (But hearing someone say OUCHU! has the same meaning). It's still a "Oh look, they can get up again" game (yeah, I just learned that in my psych class). In the end, it's up to the parents to teach the kids...and to hide any necessary items from kids. I don't like it when they downplay "cartoon" violence.

hahahaha... sasukae... yeah it's definitly a culteral thing...the name "Judas" is banned there for religious reasons- don't get me wrong, I love Germany- but it's a bit of a purist sociaty even today. One of my good friends lives in Germany and she says that they're still touchy about violence, homosexuality (hence the sasuke/naruto accident kiss). HOWEVER i don't understand the kanji missing on the sake bottle, considering the drinking age is far lower there (16 i think?) and thus logically they should be less concerned with it than Japan where the drinking age is 21.

No actually we´re NOT that touchy about violence and homosexuality ! QAF is broadcasted here, too !
It´s rather this specific tv station that cut out that much ! On other tv stations there is much more violence even in cartoons.
And this is really the first time it´s SO many cuts ~ don´t know exactly why NOW and why with THIS series (o_o;) ...

Ich versteh´s auch nicht - zumal das in DER FORM vom FSK auch gar nicht vorgegeben ist, das ist auf RTL2s Mist gewachsen und die waren früher ja auch nicht so krass mit Schnitten drauf.
Und den halben Sinn einer Serie verändern, kann irgendwo auch nicht die Lösung sein. Ich kann die Fans dieser Serie schon gut verstehen.

Außerdem hast du Recht auf Pro7 kommt beispielsweise fast zur gleichen Zeit Charmed und da geht´s ja auch ganz schön rau zu (auch wenn´s kein Zeichentrick ist).

Naja schade um die Serie, ich hoffe RTL2 macht nicht so weiter.
Sonst sollen sie halt doch lieber bei Sportserien bleiben - Mila und Co. waren schließlich auch ungeschnitten und da geht´s ja manchmal auch sehr rauh zu (und da DURFTEN wir noch Blut sehen *gg*)

This is why I NEVER watch anime on TV (except 4Kids, which, sadly, kills whatever it touches). I used to think it was only America which was completely insane about censoring anime on TV, but Germany takes the cake. Cancelling a WEAPON? Good Lord...

But well it´s not Germany that´s so insane, it´s only this one and specific tv station that is!!
Other tv stations are broadcasting animes at a LATER hour and there are no or only little cuts !

The intro reminds me of the U.S One Piece "Rap" intro. Are you sure Naruto wasn't secretly dubbed by 4Kids in Germany? LOL

And I'm sorry if i offended you on the whole Germany is touchy about homosexuality and violence thing... it was just my German friend's opinion and I probaly shouldn't have stated as such. Sorry ^ ^;

I really think they should keep the original openings. -__- Wow, the German version was cut that much? O_O And I thought the U.S. version was majoryly cut. If you cut some of the scenes like the U.S. and Germany did, it doesn't make sense. Like the illusion of Sasuke fainting or dieing better yet, and Sasuke throwing the shurikens. The kanji on the bottle. And Zabuza's weapon, those really didn't need to be cut. XD

If I'm remembering correctly, I think that when Naruto first aired here in the U.S. that the "accidental" kiss between Naruto and Sasuke wasn't edited. Because I'm sure I remember watching it. But recently when I saw a rerun of that episode, I noticed it was cut. It doesn't mean anything, its just incredibly funny! You know, I think if there going to cut the episodes all to crap then they should air it on Adult Swim or something. Air the series at a later hour, or specific TV station. :P

I guess thats why I love the Japanese version of Naruto the best. *sigh*

Yes !!! I´ve now heard/seen the Japanese original opening and it´s just GREAT !!!
You´re sooo right ! I don´t get it - why did they cut that all out in the first place ? Why do they broadcast Naruto at such a time / tv station if they think it doesn´t fit ?! It must be pretty expensive to cut that much, too. ?! o_o; ....

all i could think when watching that opening was "wtf? did they do to it!" and then i laughed. THen i got pissed...they do not know how to pronouce effing names! sasuke...they just put shame to his name. Its like "learn to pronouce names right!!"

I laughed at the song though. Im so gald i dont live in germany.
