Cuts, cuts², cuts³ in the German Naruto version

Well, as I´ve already told you in this post Naruto is now on German tv.
A lot of people have been complaining about the German version.
The voices are not fitting, they pronounce some of the names wrong.
And the German opening which isn´t even in German is horrible, too !!

But the most annoying thing are the cuts. We have the US version of Naruto - and as you might know there are already a lot of cuts - but the German version has even MORE cuts !
I want to give you some examples here - you will soon know what I´m talking about:

So as you can see the Americans cut out the weapon and a BIT of the blood. The Germans cut out the WHOLE thing !!! So as you can imagine the story changes a lot with stuff like that !!!
Everyone looks shocked and we Germans only think "Huh ? Why ? He has only a SMALL wound that isn´t even bleeding !!!" ... OMG ! *shakes head*

Yes, they actually DID it. ... They DID it. ..... I´m curious how he will fight with not really having a weapon. How can they DO that ?
Why are they broadcasting a series that they obviously consider to be too violent ???!!!! THEN broadcast sport series or e.g. Yakitate Japan! .. oh no wait, they´re throwing bread at horses, that´s NOT good ! The little kids might do that, too, and that´s just too cruel and violent, isn´t it ? XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
If they want that series to be for LITTLE children then why did they make an ENGLISH opening ???!!! Little children in Germany CAN´T understand English you know ?!? XDDDDDD .... oh well.

I thought Naruto got raped in the US, with the 'Believe it!" shit. But looking at Germany... AUGH. I think they win for series rape.

^__^ I knew you would like the original! And yes, you're so right. I don't see why they cut so much, if they know that its not suitable for certain audiences. And they know that it needs to be on a certain station and time. XD Yeah, I'm sure the expense is a lot to cut so much in an series. xD

I know, they are like two different series. The "Believe it!" phrase is so annoying, though. -_- xD

... and here in Finland they don't cut anything. :P I think it's a german culture thing in this case, since at least in Finland and Sweden the series shown are really uncut. And we have stuff like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Hellsing and Samurai Champloo - I guess Full Metal Panic! should be counted in that too, since there's naked people running around. So, duh.

Well, I don´t think that it´s a cultural thing.
We also have Hellsing and Samurai Champloo and they were UNCUT. They were only shown on another tv station than Naruto !

They cut out Haku's body as well ^^ Also, if you listen to the German, when Haku dies they say "That boy has gone away" with no mention to death in the slightest. He just ran off, you know, after having a hole blasted in his chest...

That´s sooo ridiculous, I´ve stopped watching the German version now and have started with the original Japanese version :P

The german version had both me and my friend in stitches (with our mediocre German skillz) with some bits. Particularly the episode with the mirrors and Haku. Naruto is so worried about Sasuke and yet, instead of being a human porcupine, he's just stood there, shaking a little. It doesn't even show him faint!

*lol* yes there are SOME parts where you don´t get why the charas act like they DO cuz scenes are completely left out or dialogs are changed (like the thing with Haku disappearing instead of dying XD) - especially later on with Orochimaru (-_-;) ... I´m so glad that they´re going to show only the first 52 episodes and I guess they won´t show more episodes in the future XDDDD At least I hope so.
And Naruto´s voice in Germany is so .. yuck ! I LOVE the Japanese voice though ^^

Oh, yes I think I remember seeing some 1 Litre icons (besides all of her TeniPuri icons) a while ago ^-^

About that Sasuke scene, if you look in the manga, it's far worse. I can't believe how much they've edited it from the original to that!

The German manga version ? The American one ??!!! I don´t think that the German manga was edited like that, too, cuz they don´t do much to the mangas here ^^; ... but I´ve never read the German version ... besides the first chapters ... so I just don´t know :/

I honestly have to say that I don't like Naruto at all (I hate it with a fierce passion actually), but I must admit.....WTF!? THAT'S SO STUPID!

It's almost as bad as what they did with the US version of DB. And then they kind of went back and allowed some things to show. But this....TOTALLY CENSORING A SWORDBLADE OR SHURIKEN!? .....eh.....wow. And I thought the US was bad about censoring shows that are shown on CN.

(But lucky for me I don't watch this show.) I would probably be pissed if it were a show I like, but still....I feel bad that it was censored so ridiculously. I feel the same for US versions sometimes. If they feel the show is too violent or suggestive to the point of censoring it, it has no business being on the air.
