Yesterday I´ve finally finished FMA.
So, what I want to do now is talk about the series and also about the END !!!~
I liked the series from the very start ^-^ although I started to watch it only recently :/ At first I thought it´s SiFi or has something to do with mechas - and THAT´s so NOT my genre >_>
BUT then I saw so many people going all crazy over it, so I thought why not try ? :)
AND that was absolutely the right choice !!! I´ve really seen a LOT of animes up to now (as you can see here), but THIS was really a good one !!
Ok, ok everyone has different tastes, nee ? But speaking for me, I think this is now really on of my favourite animes ever (and that means something ! ;))
The compostion of seriousness and slapstick is BRILLIANT and the soundtrack is beyond this world ! You have to adore FMA just because of the great opening and ending songs, right ?
Ed´s seiyuu does such a great job ! I LOVE HER voice !!! ~♥ [Romi Paku ~ She´s also the voice of Nana O_O]
And not speaking of Junichi Suwabe the voice of Greedo (I instantly recognized Atobe´s voice ~♥ XDXD a reason to LOVE Greedo, no ?? :P)

There are a LOT of spoilers from here on, so if you´ve NOT finished watching FMA yet or if you DON´T want to know what´s happening next: DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER !!
Aah~ I already knew that a lot of people were not satisfied with the end of FMA. So I was expecting the worst !!!!~ All the time I was guessing WHAT probably could happen~
I wasn´t expecting THIS !
Ok, first of all there was a lot going on in the last few eps, right ? BUT I didn´t care much about Roy and Co. because Ed is my favourite character, so I thougt: "As long as Ed is alright, it´s fine with me." (Yeah, I´m a bastard I know :P)
So, when Ed was dying on the other side of the gate (when he was not in his own body XD), I started to cry (because like I said, I knew that the end would be not very nice x_x).
After Ed died in HIS world, too, I was going to explode - I didn´t want to believe it - just like Al, too ;______________________; so when Al sacrificed himself, I was kind of happy .___.
Ed was ALIVE and he had his ORIGINAL body ;_; his arm and his leg ... YAY \^.^/ ..... but I knew that it´s not alright this way, I like Al, too, and he has suffered soooooooooo much, hasn´t he ??
And knowing Ed, I knew what would happen next .... *sigh*
So~ ....the last few minutes of the anime were horrible, weren´t they ? ;___; .... They showed Roy and Co. being alright .. they showed Al being alive and back to his original body (although he has lost his memories of the last 4 years) .. but what the hell is going on with ED ??????? x_____X ... That was really exciting ! :/
Nyah~ seeing him alive, was the most important thing for me :) ... it´s too bad that he has lost his body parts again ;_; ..... on the other hand he´s at an advantage with his auto-mail in 'our' world I think :/ ..... plus he´s with his father ! And he´s trying very hard to get back to his world, an I´m sure he´ll make it ^-^
On the other side: even though Al doesn´t have any memories, he wants to learn more about Alchemy to be able to see his brother again ~ I don´t know if he´s still a bit of memories left or just this feeling that THIS might be the best way to find his brother BUT with both of them working so hard, there is NO way they couldn´t meet each other again, right ?????
So the end is still kind of a happy end !! Regarding the dark atmosphere all through the anime, the end could have been MUCH harder, more sad and whatnot !!!
But still I have to digest this end first :/
I´m going to watch the movie soon, I´ve seen that it´s taking part AFTER the anime, so Al and Ed still seem to be seperated.
Oh man how I love this series ~♥
Two so young boys suffering so much, seeing so many horrible things, being forced to do horrible things and so on.
The Homunculus are very interesting, too. Especially Lust, I´d never imagined that I would like her some day :) Oh, and as mentioned before Greedo is GAY ahr ... great :)~
The president was a strange one, I always thought ENVY is the president ... nya~ stupid mEh >___>
I always thought that there should be a Homunculus with Al´s body, too. I thought maybe it´s Envy XD .... ah, if you get more info in the movie about this, PLEASE don´t tell me yet x___X;;
I was a bit dissapointed that there´s another side of the gate ... and that it´s our world (Yay Ed is in Munich, so he´s in MY country harharhar x__X ....but unfortunately 'some' years too early *coughs* XD)
I still don´t get Roy´s actions that well ... perhaps that´s the reason, why he´s not one of my favs
I LOVE Al and Ed´s sensei XDXD SHE´S sooooooooooo rocking the series XD~
Al was going on my nerves when he tried to stop his brother from killingtheir mother that damn Sloth Homunculus thing x__X !!!!~ I know that it must be hard, but still ... ARGH !
Worst case scenario:
Al has finished his studies and in order to be able to meet up with his bro, he´s searching for the Philosopher´s Stone, AN' HERE WE GO AGAIN~ XDXD .... *coughs*
That was the teariest scene of the whole anime ~ for me ;___; ... I so cried when I saw this ;___; uwaaah++~

Anyway, series. Around this time last year, I was first introduced to Fullmetal Alchemist. The first three episodes completely blew me away. They were drop-dead amazing. Now, I know that all anime is held in check and constrained by various items, so I was already figuring that it wasn't going to be, say, My Neighbor Totoro, or anything. Through and through, it is very much a serialized anime, and should be considered as such. In that genre, it's top-notch. The music is brilliantly orchestrated, though, as I already stated, I have come to think that the only FMA theme song is "Brothers".
There were some episodes that sucked like hell, due to poor dialogue, uncharacteristic embarassments, and slow pacing. But those seem to slip away and become a small compensation for certain episodes, that exceed even the best marks in a serialized anime source. The voice talent in both English and Japanese is very nice, though it really depends which episode it is. Certain episodes, I think, are meant to be viewed in English, and some in Japanese, or vice versa. Overall, very, very nice. And as a fan fiction writer, there was excellent material to work with. I LOVE this series to death, especially the themes and characterisation that the animators, the anime story wrtiers, and the original creator put into play.
Don't you agree that there are some qualities of FMA that just sceam "FANDOM!" at you?
When I first saw the end-series, setting aside the trouble with plot consistency and pacing, the intent was golden. I think the last two episodes were the first thing that made me ever think that there might be a sweet pairing in the series - Royai. :) And, of course, the ending. I love Elric!kyoudai. I really do, with all my heart and soul. So the end was incredibly, "WTF? What the-?? There need to be together....T_T"
A lot of people don't like the anime plot that isn't consistent with the manga, but I think that it suits the anime style very well. It's visually impressive/explosive, and works a lot better in the anime media much better than the magna plot, which is just that - a plot that works better in panels than in frames.
It makes me really happy to know that you weren't disappointed!
If I got the the German right (which I probably didn't XD)... I don't know if there's FMA manga in German. T_T Sorry!no subject
Aw~ well I DO like j-pop/-rock very much, so OF COURSE I ADORE the op/ed themes ^-^;; Yeah, well I think EVERY anime that is longer than 13 eps has its 'filler' episodes which are .... very unsubstantial then o__O; BUT there were very few in FMA. When I remember right I liked ALL the eps, there weren´t any annoying ones to me.
I cannot compare the English with the Japanese version, I´ve only seen the Japanese one. And I ALWAYS like the Japanese versions more (perhaps because my fandom grew up with Japanese originals XD) !
In my opinion NOONE else can scream, cry or hiss like Japanese voice actors do ^^

Wow, you think that too? I thought I was just an oddball or something. In ep. 51 when Envy speared Ed through, I was all, "Oh, the English is never going to be able to make sounds like that. That's almost trademarked by Romi. XD"
I LOVE not only the spoken lines, but the way the characters cry, scream, breathe, etc. etc. etc. in the Japanese version. I wish some of the little qualities didn't get lost in translation. T_T

I figured it out when I was watching Dragonball 8 years ago ^^; I watched the English, Japanese, Italian and German version and there was SUCH a big difference !!! Ok the Italians can scream good, too and some of the English and German voice actors were not too bad, BUT they will never be as good as Japanese seiyuu ^-^V
I will ALWAYS prefer the Japanese version even if I have to watch it without subtitles -___________-

I don't know if it's translated but it'd be really weird if it wasn't released in Germany because it's released even here in Finland (the English version since no one has bothered translating it into Finnish). o_O And there's hardly any manga released in Finland. Most Finns still don't even know what manga and anime are...
And of course you only get manga in the biggest cities which means that I only have bought the first volume. ;__; I get to go to Tampere (the closest place where they sell manga) so rarely. (But I've read the whole thing online so I'm not in that much hurry. ^__^;;, I'd still like to buy it though.) But you definitely should read the manga! In my opinion it's better than the anime and even if you think the anime is better the manga is still good stuff to read. Yay~

I had always liked Lust, but I liked her even more after she turned good. :D I was very sad when she died.
I think the only part that I cried about was when Riza found Roy outside of the Fuhrer's mansion, and I thought he was dead. I was very glad when it turned out that he wasn't. ^___^
