[Japan Travel]: Kôchi - Day 1
Hello again! ⊂((〃￣ー￣〃))⊃
It's time for another travel photo session, I guess.
After I left Matsuyama (which was my first stop in Shikoku), I moved on to Kôchi (高知).
It's a rather small city, some parts are very inaka-like and they are definitely not very used to (foreign) tourists there. I also had a chance to meet![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)

Kochi - Day 1 (April 6th, 2009):
Anpanman trains only!!! Well, almost XD There's an Anpanman museum close, so that's why XD
A lot of Japanese people were getting their cameras out to take photos as well ;)
I had to change trains and wait for the next one, so I used the time to take random photos.
By the way, I'd recommend to go by bus from Matsuyama to Kochi. It's cheaper and faster as far as I know. I don't regret going by train, though, as the landscape I saw was awesome.
You'll travel along the famous and really beautiful Yoshino River.
Oh, and then it was time to get into the next Anpanman train (x_X) ... XD
While coming closer and closer to Kochi, I was really surprised at first. It all looked really very inaka-like - not like there would be a big city ahead.
Tons and tons and tooons of rice fields!! :)
On my way to the Kochi Castle (which was one of the main reasons why I wanted to visit Kochi anyway).
I think that was a school, I liked it, so I took a photo :)
Yeah, I know, I'm a little bit lazy today when it comes to typing, but the pictures say more than my words could anyway, I guess?! ;)
It was quite hot that day and there were not soooo many people around the castle. Like most castles it was on a hill as well, but only a small one, so no hiking or anything XD ...
And here it is: Kochi Castle.
Nice, small and cute. Nothing special, though :)
And that's the view you have from one of those tiny windows inside the castle.
Inside there was not really anything interesting to see.

I really want to visit Aichi Prefecture's Inuyama Castle some day. It's also a national treasure :)
But of course MatsumotoJun Castle is still my NUMBER 1 on the "to see" list :D
Another castle in Aichi Prefecture. There are still so many castles I haven't seen yet ;o;
I really should be able to go there some time as it's not sooooo~ far away (^^') ....

I was a little bit tired and to be honest there's not sooooooooooooo much to see in Kochi. Most of the other things would have taken too long to get to before they close (which is about 5pm anyway), so I decided to relax a bit and just walk through shopping streets and stuff.
Anyway, what you can see on this and the following photos was placed in the "manga street" XD

That's DEFINITELY the best one! XD
And that's it. The one for 2009 was still missing :)
After that I went to the small shopping arcade and through some other shopping streets. Checke out the small Animate there and stuff.
That's Harimaya Bridge (播磨屋橋). A bridge that featured in a famous Kōchi song about the forbidden love of a Buddhist priest.
After that I met up withnightstar and we went to eat sushi at a kaiten-zushi restaurant :)
I ate too much, I paid too much, but it was definitely fun (^-^)

While waiting for my streetcar there was another one passing by .... going to "ごめん" which means "sorry".
Who lives in Sorry Town? XD
I went to the castle one more time to get a few night shots.
There were almost no people apart from 2 guys and 2 girls (probably university students) who were quite drunk and having kind of an ou-sama game.
Sometimes I really wish I WOULDN'T understand Japanese XDDDD
Actually I was really lucky, because shortly after I finished taking my last few shots the lights all went out o___O; ....
It was a little bit scary, but also a really nice atmosphere (*___*)
After that I went back to my hotel to sleep (*-*)
The next day I did quite a lot, maybe too much.

Shuri castle is in Okinawa which explains why you had to check twice if it's really in Japan :) I've been to Naha but didn't see the caste, how sad is that?

It's not too weird to have raw egg with HOT rice here, but that was more like onsen tamago and thus not completely raw. It was very yummie ^^
