My first onigiri + instant miso soup XD

So as promised. Here are some pictures of my miso instant soup (not very spectacular).

Futhermore I´ve finally managed to make some onigiri \^____^/
So here you go.

This one was with tofu and seaweed ^-^;

Well, nothing special XD
Furthermore it wasn´t THAT tasty !! I´ve once tried a miso soup in a Japanese restaurant and it was really good !

Onigiri - my first try !!

I´ve made only one 'face onigiri', because it was difficult enough just to form them properly XD~

I´ts really not a lot of work ! But you´ll definitely leave a mess in the kitchen XDDDD

First I had to wash the rice. After that you put it into water and let it rest there for about 30 minutes. Then you boil it for about 15 min. until the water is gone.
Let it cool down a bit. Then you can start.
That´s only the recipe for MY rice sort though ^^

I´ve used sesame and an egg furikake as rice toppings.
Some of the onigiris I´ve filled with tuna + mayonese (? XD) THAT was pretty tasty :)
And I´ve wrapped some of them completely into nori.

I think it´s more tasty if you leave the onigiri for a while in the fridge :) (especially in the summer x__X)

Well, some of them were too salty. And the onigiris without fillings had too little taste !! But I liked the one with the tuna filling ^-^;
As you can see on the photos, I had some problems with getting the riceballs into shape x___X .... plus most of them turned out too big ! My hands are very big, too XD; .... But it wasn´t conventient to eat such HUGE balls XDDD~ *sigh* ... I have to practice more !

Suggestions are welcomed ! ;)

Some questions:
• Do you eat your onigiri rather cold or warm ?
• What´s your fav onigiri ?
• Suggestions for 'EASY to make' fillings (easy and cheap !) ??
• Hints: How to make a triangle form ? I´m too stupid for it ;__;
Sushi: I don´t have a recipe so: How much rice vinegar do I have to add per gram rice ? o__O

*nods* that should be VERY yummie ^-^ *drools more*
That´s great ! XD O__O
Nn~ and you think that´s working ? I mean doesn´t the rice fall apart if the shape is too ... complicated (like a cat´s shape XD)?? But it sure must look damn cute ^^

Oh well, perhaps I just have to practice a lot and I´ll be able to make a triangle shape ^^;

*drools too* I'll try it ^^

Yes, it works, it's a little difficult, but it works. I even made a star and a bunny once (Yes -_-) But I won't do it again, it was just for friends and it's damn too complicated XD Anyway, how do you make the onigiri? Because I have a tip if you don't use it already: Water your hand and put salt on them before you make one. It avoids the rice to fall apart.

^^

O__O uwah~ sugoi ! chou-sugoi !! ^^
Yes I´ve already tried to use salt on my hands ^^ (that´s why I complained about the onigiri being too salty earlier XD) - but it didn´t help me to form them the way I´d like to :/
