My first onigiri + instant miso soup XD
So as promised. Here are some pictures of my miso instant soup (not very spectacular).
Futhermore I´ve finally managed to make some onigiri \^____^/
So here you go.

This one was with tofu and seaweed ^-^;

Well, nothing special XD
Furthermore it wasn´t THAT tasty !! I´ve once tried a miso soup in a Japanese restaurant and it was really good !
Onigiri - my first try !!

I´ve made only one 'face onigiri', because it was difficult enough just to form them properly XD~

I´ts really not a lot of work ! But you´ll definitely leave a mess in the kitchen XDDDD
First I had to wash the rice. After that you put it into water and let it rest there for about 30 minutes. Then you boil it for about 15 min. until the water is gone.
Let it cool down a bit. Then you can start.
That´s only the recipe for MY rice sort though ^^
I´ve used sesame and an egg furikake as rice toppings.
Some of the onigiris I´ve filled with tuna + mayonese (? XD) THAT was pretty tasty :)
And I´ve wrapped some of them completely into nori.
I think it´s more tasty if you leave the onigiri for a while in the fridge :) (especially in the summer x__X)
Well, some of them were too salty. And the onigiris without fillings had too little taste !! But I liked the one with the tuna filling ^-^;
As you can see on the photos, I had some problems with getting the riceballs into shape x___X .... plus most of them turned out too big ! My hands are very big, too XD; .... But it wasn´t conventient to eat such HUGE balls XDDD~ *sigh* ... I have to practice more !
Suggestions are welcomed ! ;)
Some questions:
• Do you eat your onigiri rather cold or warm ?
• What´s your fav onigiri ?
• Suggestions for 'EASY to make' fillings (easy and cheap !) ??
• Hints: How to make a triangle form ? I´m too stupid for it ;__;
• Sushi: I don´t have a recipe so: How much rice vinegar do I have to add per gram rice ? o__O

Am liebsten habe ich übrigens die mit den süßen Algen (wenn mir jetzt auch noch der richtige Name dafür einfallen würde... *seufz*), am zweitliebsten habe ich die mit den gesalzenen Pflaumen. 'Umeboshi'? Irgendwie sowas. Sushi habe ich noch nie richtig gemacht, aber da habe ich bestimmt auch zwei linke Füß.. äh, Hände dafür.^^;
*seufz*
Mist, jetzt habe ich Hunger.-___- Onigiri haben will...;___;

Hm, Onigiri... ich esse es kalt und warm. Zu hause natürlich warm und unterwegs gehts ja meistens nur kalt ^^;

About the triangle form
I happened to saw how to do that in a Fruits Basket episode last night heh. You can find it here: on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oaJwwx2HoQ&search=fruit%20basket%20episode The tutorial starts at 7 minutes and 23 seconds lol.
Hello, by the way. I just joined :waves:

may I ask where you buy the japanese things you need? always looks so nice :o
well, about the shape of the onigiri (but maybe you already have found a solution, haha): I use... frischhaltefolie oO I wrap it around the whole onirigi because then I can make sure that the rice doesn't fall apart oO' so then I just press my hand on it to make the ball-shape (which I did before) flat. after that I use my thumb and forefinger (just like when you play volleyball xD) to form it to triangle^^
hope it helps ^_^
