You are only a couple of months into your stay, so I'd say move! But your school should pay and help you. And maybe you could stay with your boss and his wife for awhile for some rest time? You've got to make sure they understand the seriousness of your situation.

Have you tried having your boss call the police? There must be laws governing this kind of situation - it's not like Japan is lawless, right? Maybe you could record the noise some night for "proof"?

I would try that, and then if it doesn't help, move! You need the sleep and the peace,C! Moving would be temporarily uncomfortable and trying, but well worth it in the long run, especially if you plan to stay for more than a year. And this time you could do some "neighbor research" before you accept any apartment.
