I've been to Inuyama castle. It is quite small, but it's really interesting inside (still original not a rebuilt) and the view from above over the Japanese Rhein (no idea what its real name was) ist amazing :) And there's Meiji-mura nearby which is also amazing!

Shuri castle is in Okinawa which explains why you had to check twice if it's really in Japan :) I've been to Naha but didn't see the caste, how sad is that?
