[Japan Life / Blog Project]: Webhosting, Tanabata, Rainy season
Hello!

Yes, I'm still alive. I'm soooo sorry that I haven't been around for such a long time. 3 weeks?? Crazy.
First of all I want to thank everybody who took part in the polls and helped me with my blog project.
After that I went into "crazy zombie mode" and have done NOTHING but working on my new project - and still am!

This all turned out to take much longer than expected. My website is up, but far from being publish-ready.
I learned a lot about PHP coding and refreshed my CSS knowledge in the past few weeks. I had a lot of moments where I was about to go crazy as things just didn't work out at all (and that's still going on!)
So exhausting.
Several times I was about to give up.

The biggest issues I had were with my webhosting service anyways, so I'm looking into alternatives now and will change services soon. I hope it will go smoothly.
If you have any webhosting services you can personally recommend, then please do so!
Right now I'm looking into "immotion Hosting" and "WebHosting Hub" as they seem to get the best reviews.
I'm using "iPage" right now and wouldn't recommend it! I chose them because they had good reviews and were high in rankings, but it seems that lately they got worse and worse and a lot of other people are complaining, too. Not just me!

I don't like my life right now.
Those 3 weeks have passed by so quickly, because all I ever did was working on my project like crazy. I'm on quite an unhealthy sleeping rythmn, too!

I stopped working out as I just don't have enough time while working on this project.
The "pimples(?!)" in my face have gotten worse, too! I've been to the skin doctor a few times now. All I get is vitamins and a strange gel for my face - without any results. The skin doctor sucks big time anyways there, but I don't really have any alternatives as I live in a small city.
I'm thinking about maybe going back home in Germany, but that will be super expensive (health insurance for abroad also only covers things that you didn't have prior to departure).
I really don't know what to do as I've never had skin issues before and now I'm 30. So strange ..

It's like all the good changes I've done in my life lately are back to zero now.
I think it will become better once my website is up and working properly, but I'm not sure.
I need to stop working 24/7 on it. It will take a long time anyways until I can make it public, might as well limit myself to only 1 hour per day or so. However, I just can't stop working on it.
I guess that's my stupid perfectionist character coming through again. So annoying!

In other news, it's only 3 more weeks until I'll go back to Germany for summer vacation!!
I'm getting excited and also a bit scared.
I haven't been back in over 2 years!!!
Some of my friends I haven't seen in 2, some in 4 years. Most of them are not contacting me anymore anyways. I might be all alone and just spending time with my family then.
Anyways I'm looking forward to it!

Some interesting things I wanna tell you, but as I haven't updated in a long time I can't possibly write about all of it in one entry.
I try to be a good girl and update more often.
I feel so stressed as there's so much I need to do and no time.
I still need to find a way to make all of this work out!
Especially because lately I want to study Japanese again, too!!!

Rainy season is still going on, although I think the peak is over here.
We had a few strong thunderstorms and typhoons, too, but nothing major.
I heard about a few more earthquakes in Japan, but my area wasn't affected, so I'm not up to date.

Here are some photos I took of hydrangeas. The symbol of rainy season, I guess:

I really love all the colors they come in! ^-^

I like pink and lightblue the best, but it would look boring with only those 2 colors, I guess ^^;

And something else I spotted:

A spider web covered with raindrops. Too bad I didn't have my good camera on me at that time...

Right before rainy season it was "hotaru" (= firefly) time. This year again, I failed to take any good photos:

You have to look really closely in order to see them. At least the photos turned out better than last year :)

I wish I could take photos like this, though:

Absolutely stunning, right?!

Yesterday, July 7th, was Tanabata (read more about it here), also known as the star festival.
It's not a national holiday and it's not such a big deal. Not all children seem to really care about it - at least from my experience.
At least it's the start of summer festivals now!

Okay, that's it, I guess.
I wanted to wait with travel entries until my new blog is up, but as this takes muuuuch longer than expected, I just keep them coming here for now, although this means double work for me in the end.
Livejournal is just sooooooooooooooooooooo much easier to use!! I almost forgot about how simple things can be!!!! Paradise!!~

Thanks for reading and supporting me!
I'm trying to be a good girl now!
