[Japanese]: Quick question
Uh, 2 posts in 1 day?
What's wrong with me? XD

I have a question to my Japanese learning f-list:
Does anybody know where I can get a hold of the GERMAN (!!!) version of Heisig's "Remembering the Kanji"? I mean here in Japan!?
Or .. even better, if I can find a download link for the whole book somewhere? I only have the sample, not the whole book in German!
(I mean I could order it via amazon.de and then my family would have to send it to me, but that takes TOO long and is way to expensive ...)

As I'm in Japan it seems that I can only get hold of the English version, but for a book like this I think the German version would be WAY better!

Help?

Good night (^-^)/

EDIT: Problem solved!
I couldn't find it while searching for the title, but looking for the ISBN works wonders. YAY!

*gasp!* 2 posts in a day?! XD
I sometimes post 3 times if I forget something (^-^)
P.S. - Could you add me as a friend? Thanks!!

Haha XD
If you have a look at my "Semi-friends only"-entry then you'll see that I'm barely adding any people anymore.
Reason? All of my posts are usually public anyway, so you won't miss anything so or so AND I can't read or comment to my f-list entries anymore. I'm just waaaay to busy.
So adding you wouldn't change a thing (~_~)

Google einfach mal :)

Aber wie du dir denken kannst macht es mehr Sinn sich diese keywords und storys in der eigenen Sprache einzuprägen, ne? ^-^;

Is there really a German version? I know that one of my teachers at university in Japan was French and he had to buy the English book and write his own French translations of all the words into it as he read it, but maybe he just had the same trouble you did getting hold of a translated copy in the country.

However, I don't know if you've read the book before already? But I own it and I don't find it's right for me at all. To learn kanji from it would require that I un-learn a lot of things I already understand about it, and it will only teach you to recognise and not to read (as in, it doesn't teach you the Japanese readings for any of the kanji-- only the meaning, so you would never be able to read it out loud). I know that when I learn to read Japanese I have to be able to read it in my head in Japanese, so I've found it quite useless as a method of learning.

I know you may already know this and think it's a good idea, and if so that's great!! Really great! But just in case you didn't know, I wanted to warn you before you spent a lot of money on a book you might not use. I know you already learn Japanese in a conventional manner, so maybe the method of learning will not work for you in the same way it doesn't work for me.

Ther is, there is.
Otherwise I wouldn't ask XDDDD
I don't want to pay 14€ extra though :/ ... plus it would take aournd 2 weeks until I finally have it in my hands whereas I already have the English version, so I wouldn't waste money on that.
But as the whole book works on how good you can remember the keywords and make your own stories I'm SURE that a version in your mother tongue would be WAAAAAAAAAAY better for obvious reasons.

Plus I heard that the German keywords are a little bit closer to the original meaning of the kanji compared to the English version.

I know that, too XDDD That's what I just wrote in my previous comment, but as it was in German you couldn't have known, sorry for that ;)
I've really struggled a long time, read a LOT ... and gave it a lot of thought.
I know about ALL the pros and cons, but I wanna give it a try now :)

August beim Feuerwerk in Miyajima.

Mal was anderes! 14.

Beppu, Nagasaki, Mount Aso, ...?!

Skillfull~

I still don't understand the point of ISBN numbers, isn't it like a barcode?
Unique to each book?

Wow xD

Glad everything worked out. :D
Must be a little hard to find books in other languages (other than japanese and english).
But at least you are surrounded by japanese, it'll be a lot easier to practice remembering and learning kanji.

Thanks :)
That's right! Whenever I learn something new (vocab or kanji) it's almost 100% sure that I'm going to see or hear that vocab/kanji again during the day, so that's really good for learning/remembering things :)
I don't really "feel" an improvement yet, not a huge one that is, but I think it really helps a lot acutally being in the country. I think I will "feel" it in the long run - I hope so at least :)
