I've never dealt with roaches or cockroaches before so I don't really have any advice...But I agree with what people are saying, DON'T SQUISH'EM! & I've also heard about dish soap...I would continue with the physical traps though ('cause they certainly can't HURT!)...
As far as i know, cockroaches don't eat through plastic and stuff. I'm pretty sure that is correct.
I hope you get rid of your unwanted guests ASAP! ;_;
