Hey there! ^__^
I've noticed that I have neither updated my anime list nor my manga list ever since 2010. ^^;; ....
I recently stumbled upon "MyAnimeList" and thought it would be a good idea to use that instead to keep track. I got way too lazy to update my lists here on LJ (I also included jdramas and jmovies in that list ... totally lost overview about those by now though....).
Luckily it wasn't that hard to set up my list as I just could us my old LJ lists and then my recent list (I just kept track of the recent ones in a note pad).
I didn't really watch / read much between 2009 and 2014. As most of you know I had kind of lost interest ... or rather I found something much more interesting while I lived in Japan. My entire free time was spent on travelling within Japan (and stalking Ikuta Toma). XD ....
But being back in Germany I couldn't travel that much anymore. Also, because of a certain job offer where I needed to be familiar with some of the newest series, I easily got into it again. ^___^;;; ......

I'm still not very confident that the lists are complete, especially not the manga list, but at least it looks quite okay to me:

I know, I know .... it's quite embarrassing. There aren't that many titles considering that I started watching in the mid-80s, but then again you also have to consider the long break I took in between. ^^;
And it's not like I'm only watching anime / reading manga all the time. It's just ONE thing that interests me.
By the way, if you're on "MyAnimeList", please let me know! ^___^
It's easy to see what you've watched / read and how you rated it. Maybe I can find something I'd like to check out as well.
Honorable mention *LOL*:
Akagami no Shirayuki-hime:

Just really quick because I'll write about it in more detail when I do my next "recently watched series" entry.
BUT this series surprised me! I stumbled upon it because I saw the artwork somewhere and liked it. Also it looked like a reversed harem series - and you know I'm always looking for good series in that genre ... ;)
However, this is actually the type of series I thought I would NOT like! If you told me about it, I'd probably call it BORING!
The characters are all too good to be true, too innocent = boring! It's too romantic! Old-fashioned love story.
BUT .... for some reason exactly THAT'S what is so refreshing about this series!
Maybe I've had just too many "modern shojo" series recently, I don't know. Or maybe if you liked "Kimi ni todoke" then this one is for you.
Zen is the BEST prince out there! And Shirayuki + Zen is such an adorable couple. It's far from being boring.

In fact, it's so cliche and romantic, that it makes you blush all the time.
And Zen is just the prince we all would love to have ourselves. Screw those horrible Disney princes! XD ..... (in fact, can someone please teach Ben from Star Wars how to be THAT cool? XD ...)
Zen got me from the very first second ... although I RARELY go for main charas (as most of you know). Obi is much more the type I'd usually go for. ;P ...
Ok, I'm gonna stop my rant now, but this series just HAD to be mentioned!
Prince ofTenn... Stride:

I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo glad I found this series. I just saw a poster somewhere and thought it looks like a sport series and I was right!
Needless to say that I like almost ANY sport series.
This one reminded me SO much of FREE!! for some reason. Yes, the art style is similar, we also have a 98% copy of Haru in this one. XD ... (not character-wise though, only the art style). And of course, tons of voice actors from Free! (and UtaPuri). Do I even have to mention that my two fav seiyuus are in there? XD ... (Jun-sama and Mamo-chan)...
Even the opening style reminded me of FREE!!!

(*points at right screenie* They did not only steal Haru from FREE!! but also Otori from Starmyu ... like 100%, even the same voice actor!!!! XDDD ....)
If you're a fan of sport series (especially of FREE!!), I doubt you'd hate this series. ;P
Check it out!
Tokyo Ghoul:re: SPOILERS AHEAD - CHAPTER 68!!!!
I think I've mentioned this back in my review of "Tokyo Ghoul". Back then I heard rumors of what might have happened to Hide, but wouldn't want to believe them.
I rushed to read up to the newest manga chapter and luckily we never got to know what happened to Hide ....
To be honest I only kept reading the :re-mange because I wanted to know what happened to Hide.
I think the :re-series is absolutely horrible and boring. I literally just skim through the chapters. :( ....
I hope if they make a 3rd season out of this, it'll be good. The animation has been much better than the manga thus far ....
Anyway ... it seems like that horrible rumor was true after all.....

And like I said back then ... this is the ONLY thing that ABSOLUTELY cannot happen. Not to Hide. Not to Ken. NOPE! That's like the only thing I cannot accept ... Hide being my favorite character and all.
I mean .. I know that Tokyo Ghoul is super cruel and had me almost throw up a few times already, but THIS is JUST TOO MUCH! .....
I will still keep reading, hoping that he decided not to eat him .... but once it's set in stone a 100%, I'm out. T____________T .... *sob*
[/SPOILER END]
Alright. That's all for now. ^___^
