[Daytrip]: Kalvarienberg in Bad Tölz (Jan 15th)
Hello

I'm so late in sharing this, but I simply didn't have time to post about it earlier.
On January 15th we had good weather on a weekend which doesn't happen very often recently ...

I already heard about the traffic jams in the morning in the direction I originally wanted to go to (mountains), but as everybody else wanted to go skiing it seems, I had to choose a different place.
Instead I went to the Kalvarienberg in Bad Tölz which is also quite nice.

The hill features a church, a chapel and a really nice view onto the city below as well as the mountain panorama in the distance.

That's the stunning view you get from up there! Not bad, huh?

The church itself is also very beautiful.

You can also check out the interior which was quite impressive.

The stairs in the middle were off limits. They're very old and are currently undergoing renovation works.

They still had the nativity scene on display.

Later I descended to check out the old city center of Bad Tölz.

As it was a Saturday, the city was busy with people enjoying the good weather and strolling through the streets and shops.

After leaving the city center I strolled along the river.
Up there you can see the church from before.

Nice graffiti.

Beautiful sights along the way.

Not sure if you can tell from the pictures, but it was freezing cold.
I barely found a bench to sit down and have my lunch as the benches were either full of snow or completely frozen. ^^; ....

A really beautiful region, though.

I crossed a bridge at the dam and walked back towards my car where I then spotted this hot-air balloon.

I hope you enjoyed the photos!

Thanks for reading.

Bye~chu!

I love Bad Tölz! It is rather close to where I live, so we often make a trip there just for a coffee or something like that.

Totally understand. Would do it as well if I lived a bit closer. ;)

Wow. Beautiful photos. That one with the church and city and mountains, I really like that, especially.
But all are so lovely.

I must say I look forward to your trips - you don't do them to advertise the places like travel articles do, but one can enjoy the "tour" with no ads or pressure to "book now" and simply feel like they've been there. And you don't always follow the recommended thing to do, but discover your own favorite places! It's always stunning, the beauty in the places you visit :O I had no idea there were such places in Germany.... (and even if there'd be nothing special, you'd still notice and capture worthy details). I feel like you should get paid for this. XD Thanks for sharing!

Haha. Well, of course.
This is not a blog, it's just my LJ - nothing more than a diary. ;)

Glad you enjoy the trip reports and photos. :D
