Yum Ryo!

...By the way, could you do me a favor? It will probably take two seconds of your time, but my friend is making his girlfriend a shirt with Roy Mustang on it for Christmas. He wants to write "too slow" (yes, the quote from Flame vs. Fullmetal) in kanji, but none of us know Japanese. I feel really mean asking this of you, but could you show me what that looks like?

If not, that's fine! I know you don't really know me.... But if you could, that would be great!

Thank you very much!

No no don´t worry ^^ .. but the problem is that my Japanese is not THAT good *hazukashiiiii* (°-°;) ...

slow = スロー (suroo)

but TOO slow ? .. hnn ...

超スロー would be "SUPER slow" ... but I really don´t know how to say "too slow" right now, I´m sorry :/
Perhaps you should try a Japanese lj community ? There are tons of 'em around (^^')

Well I guess you WOULD say: 余りに遅い for 'too slow' but I´m not 100% sure !!! (^^;) ..

Yes ! ^-^
I would recommend either Wakan (that´s what I´m using. it´s not just a program to WRITE Japanese, there´s also a dictionary, kanji look-up and stuff) or NJStar (that´s like Microsoft Word, but you can write Japanese with it ! ^^)

I'm using Wakan now. Does it look alright?

共ありがとございます!

I'm studying Spanish now (I'm nearly fluent...I swear!) and as soon as I'm capable of speaking that, I'm moving on to Japanese. Of course, a head start wouldn't hurt! ^^

Yes, it absolutely looks alright !! ^-^b

It´s fun isn´t it ? :P

Ah, Spanish! I see ^^ I also learned it @ school, but I have forgotten almost everything (;___;) *sob*

Score! It's totally fun! ^^ And it has this learning thing kinda built into it, too. When did you decide to learn Japanese?

You learned Spanish, too? Cool! It's one of those languages (at least where I live) that will get you around, so I don't think I'll forget it. As a matter of fact, I tutored a girl who used to live in Mexico. Everytime she made a grammar mistake on her paper, I wrote the phrase in Spanish and showed her how to translate it. <_<

^-^ dayo neeee ??!! ^____^
Nh~ I guess it was in 2002 *nods* I already was able to write some Kana and understand tons of words, but I had no grammar sense at all (well I still lack that part ^^' ...) ... and so I started it @ university, but had to interrupt my studies from time to time and so I´m not THAT good yet *sigh* ... and you forget a lot of stuff sooo easily ! (;_;)
In my opinion it´s WAY easier to learn languages when you´re still young ! (aroung 12-18 years I would say ^^)

Yes! :) I LOVE that language ! ^-^ hn~ it´s not of much use where I live unless you want to study it or use it in some way for your career ^^;

I agree. I started learning Spanish in fourth grade, so I've been studying it for about nine years now. It's so weird in class...my teacher wants us to be fluent by the end of the year, so she'll give us essay tests. Once I had to write a paper on the topic "La religion es el opio de la sociedad." (Religion is the opium of society.) It's really weird to be discussing things like that in a second language.

As for Japanese, I'm afraid that I'll be learning it too late (after I'm 18). I've heard that after you're bilingual, however, it is easier to learn another language. Hopefully that's true, or else I'll be terrible at Japanese. That's when I fall back on Italian! Yay!

*lol* I see ^^ but I loved to do those things in different languages :) .. well the only languages I´m pretty fluent ... are English and German (^^') ... we also had Latin, but I guess that doesn´t count XDDDD

Hn~ well yes. If you´ve already learned other languages it´s easier to learn new ones ^^ ... and I guess Japanese is not an excecption ! I don´t know how good I would be right now in Japanese if I did not have to interrupt my studies so often (x___x;) ...

I do too. My friends and I usually converse in Spanish. It's funny to watch the other people around us stare because we totally don't look hispanic yet we speak decently fast. I think it's because the teacher we have is from Spain, so she speaks to us incredibly fast. We just picked up on it. ^^;;

Actually, there was this one time I finished my homework early, so I stuck in my sister's Aladdin DVD and watched it in Spanish. It was really fun! You should hear how the poor voice actor had to sing "One Jump Ahead". I'm surprised he could get through it, he had to sing it so quickly. I felt sorry for him.

I'm looking forward to Japanese studies because then I have an excuse to listen to J-Rock and watch anime. ^^;; Spanish, on the other hand, has really weird TV shows and the like. I enjoy reading in Spanish more. Ooh, and I'm going to learn Hawai'ian, too! (don't ask)
